Hi Carol, just noticed that the photo of this monument for "Slater, Lillian E. Warburton" 161595555 says d.2000, but the entry says "Death Date 03 Jan 2012" . not sure of the correct one..

Found this on Find A Grave today: I was just doing volunteer work when I placed his memorial from a list given me. If you want my memorial so you can add info let me know and it is yours.

Death: Nov. 16, 2008
Preceded in death by his wife Virginia (d. 2002). He is survived by his children, Mark (Kathy) Taber of Boyton Beach, FL. and Denise "Chip" (Bob) Black of Milford, MI; grandchildren, Paula (Richard) Kotowski, Jennifer (Scott) Thum, Renee Taber, Kimberly Taber, and a great-grandson, Andrew Thum.
Nelson was a thirty-year veteran of the US Army and served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded numerous medals and citations during his years of service, including the Silver Star and Bronze Star. He was a POW during WWII having been captured in North Africa early in the war. He was active in the Ann Arbor VA POW group for many years.
Pvt. Taber enlisted in the Army in 1940. He was a member of Headquarters Detachment, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Division, the "Big Red One". PFC Taber was captured in North Africa in 1942. After release he was discharged in 1945. He re-enlisted in 1947 and retired as an M/Sgt in June 1973.
Services held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty, Milford, on Friday, November 21st, at 11am, with Military Honors, cremation following.
Cremated, Location of ashes is unknown.
