Are you a descendant of the Stimsons?

I noted on the memorial site of Betsy Stimson that a survey had been done and that there was a stone for her at that time. Since there is no photo of a stone on the memorial site, was it destroyed when the cemetery was vandalized? Or is it still then and just not photographed?

We will be in that are this weekend and would be happy to photograph the stone if it is still there.

Thomas Brannen, # 128649203
I see you have sponsored Thomas Brannen's memorial! Thank you! I am not related to him, but have done some research here in Indiana on War of 1812 soldiers buried within the county. Our genealogical society is shortly releasing a book on this subject; and we also set the military flag stands on all the known marked graves here.

My information about his descendants is scant. Four children, perhaps, from his second wife stayed in Indiana; at least six more, not sure where they went. And I have no data at all on children from the first marriage. Can you shed any light on these?

I'm sorry, but cemetery records indicate that there is no headstone as your comment indicates. Do you want a photo of where is would have been?
Let me know your needs/desires. In any case, the photo request will be closed because there is no headstone.

Borgine/Louise Peterson Stimson 85526568
Hi There,

I am in receipt of your edit to change her name. I have plugged her into ancestry.com and seen what comes up and it is clear to me that even if she was born with the first name of Borgine she didn't actually use it, the census records list her either as Louise B. or B. Louise. I will add the alternate name into her bio section (but will update her maiden name on the memorial). This was probably one of those cases where one of her parents stuck her with an odd family name as her first name and she probably didn't care for it at all. (You will note that her marker shows just "Louise"). I am all for accuracy but I don't believe in tormenting people beyond the grave with names that they didn't use and probably didn't like. So I will be declining the edit, although, as I said, I will manually update her maiden name.

Welcome. What I pasted in my last message is what's on the WA Digi site under Cemetery for her.

Probably from the WA State Digital Archives. Someone must have seen it before the markers were moved or destroyed.
