Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi, I'm Sharon from Wisconsin. I am an amateur genealogist and began researching my family in 1982. I have made several trips browsing cemeteries to 'visit' my ancestors. I've researched my mother's family, which was subsequently fully researched and published by my aunt. I am now immersed in researching my father's family. I am a sonographer (ultrasound tech) and currently work full-time, which really cuts into the time I can devote to my hobby! Once I finish visiting the American homes of my ancestors, I would love to make a genealogy trip to the Gaspe Peninsula of Canada and then to Europe to visit my origins.....wouldn't we all love to do that?
If I have added a memorial that is a family member of yours I will gladly transfer it to you. I try to be very careful to avoid mistakes, but it does happen, so let me know by message board if I have erred and I will correct it.
Happy genealogy hunting everyone!

Hi! I'm Nancy from Nebraska. I saw the photo you took of John's grave. I was wondering what you did or how got the letters on the headstone to stand out....It would be so very helpful to know. Thanks. Nancy

Griese relation?
I think we may be related by our 3x great grandfather, Friedrich 'Fritz' Griese from Germany?

RE: Elizabeth (Sr Mary Afra) Guisinger
I am so happy to hear from you. Sister Celeste (born Bertha Alice Guisinger) was my great aunt. She came every summer and stayed with our family and when I was in high school always encourged me in math (her field) and was just very special to me. And yes I would like a picture of her tombstone as well as Sister Afra's (her sister Elizabeth Guisinger) who died earlier but was always spoken of with great respect. You are right I am a genealogist for our family and have pictures of Sister Celeste but not Sister Afra. They also had a cousin Sister Celsus (Amelia Guisinger) who died in 2008 and is buried in Manitowac. My parents often went to the Mother House in Maitowac and corresponded with the nun who took care of Sister Celeste until she passed away. Thanks for you interest and concern and please tell Sister I only want this info for family geneaology.

Photos for you
SHaron, I am the new archivist at HOly FAmily Convent. I came across this grave site and started looking at the 20 Sisters that were listed as buried here. Of course, we have hundreds of Sisters buried here but...I looked at the ones you had posted. Several do not have photos. If you are ever interested i getting "missing photos" of our Sisters, I'd be glad to share with you. I particularly loved the oen of Sister Leovigild Spenner. I lived with her in WEst Point, Nebraska. Good luek with your searchign and genalogy worked. I've been hooked since 1986. Would love to hear from you. Havea good day.
