Living in Melbourne, Australia, born in New Zealand to grandson of only son of Anna Jane Semple Johnson, a woman we as a family are trying to trace. We have found so many and have so many to go of our New York (Brooklyn) ancestors. Looking for parents of Jeremiah Johnson born 1795 in Virginia, USA (we believe) and died 31 March 1871 in Brooklyn, New York (interred Lot 1534 Sec 122 GreenWood Cemetery, Brooklyn). His first wife Jane (Van Blarcom/Van Blaricum/Van Blarcum/ Van Blarcoom) is a person we are also trying to trace background on.Happy to photograph close to home.

Mount Royal Cemetery Photo Request
Mount Royal Cemetery has 165 acres. The burial plot location must be supplied so a volunteer can go take the photo.

You can get this free information by filling the form here: and in the "Desired Service" field, select "Burial Location (free)" and enter the information.

If the Genealogy page was not helpful then email your request to

The cemetery will email you the location (3-10 working days).

Have the memorial updated with the plot number.

You will have made it possible for the photo to be taken.

Sorry, yes you still need someone to find that grave. I live in Dunedin, and used to live in Queenstown. That is about a 5 hour drive for me as I live on the north side of town and it takes almost an hour to get from home to Mosgiel on the other side of town. I would have thought they would have Hawea in the central otago district tab, not in the
Dunedin one. That is wierd.

How interesting!
I will have to work my Van Blarcom lines back to see how the two of us are related!

Finding our roots and linking together is really quite a wonderful task! It brings such joy and interest when telling family stories!

Currently I have been working on two other major projects that I need to finish. Following that I do need to spend more time on the Van Blarcom family!

Lovely making contact with you!

Cheery Hello Sharon
Was thrilled to hear that you are working on your family tree! It is always a wonderful thing to bring together family on findagrave. Was also very grateful that you are entering graves in your country. I do believe this venue is going to be a wonderful venue to share locations between countries!

Whenever I enter a name with no dates, it usually indicates that I was working with old old transcriptions of the cemetery from the 1800s or 1
early 1900s where the headstone could not be read.

I would bet that those headstones are not there any longer or in such bad condition that they could not be read. I did notice that someone have been over at that little church to document what headstones are there since it is not a very large place.

The Van Blarcom's are a branch of my tree as well. You will have to let me know how your branch goes down. Would love to know how and when your family migrated over to where you are now.

If you Google 'Google Books' you can see a lot of information mentioning the family.

I do hope you are doing well!

Hi Sharon, I have checked and she is the only person listed as being buried in that plot. The best people to ask about this would be The Friends of Linwood Cemetery and they can be contacted via their website. I am meeting up with one of the members in a few weeks time and I will ask them then for you. Regards Shannon

RE: Helen Sweetzer Skidmore
Hi Sharon - no problem at all, glad that I could help! Actually, I was unaware that there was a photo request out for Helen Skidmore; I was just shooting a bunch of hard to reach graves assuming many of them wouldn't be listed. Glad one of them is the one you were looking for!

hi. I don't mind but would you be so kind as to send this information using the edit tab process. it is easier for me to do changes that way.
