Your 2014 photo request for Gustav Schishting
You put in a photo request for Gustav Schishting 1855-1937 at Altenheim Cemetery in Forest Park, IL

I'm very familiar with Altenheim Cemetery. Before I go up & down the rows looking for a Gustav Schishting, I wanted to make sure you're certain he was buried there.

The word "altenheim" simply means "old folks home" in German. There were a few nursing homes in the Chicago area named Altenheim started by German-Americans for German-Americans. The various nursing homes were not related to each other.

Altenheim Cemetery in Forest Park, IL was exclusively for the burial of residents of the Altenheim nursing home in Forest Park. No residents of other Altenheims were buried there.

The photo that findagrave shows as the photo for Altenheim Cemetery in Forest Park is actually a photo of the entrance to the nursing home. The cemetery was on the grounds of the nursing home, back behind the nursing home.

Do you have some sort of documentation that he lived at one time in the Altenheim of Forest Park, or a death certificate specifically giving Altenheim, Forest Park (and not some other city), as the burial site?

Take care,

You asked me something about her maiden name but you gave me no information to add or subtract from the memorial. I will be glad to add whatever you want, just let me know.

St Adalbert Cemetery-Curtin gravesites
I filled your request for the picture of Raymond Curtin's headstone. He is buried with his parents John F Curtin (May 21, 1901-Sept 26, 1967) and Harriet Curtin (1904-1972). In addition there is a stone for Francis R Curtin (Dec 24, 1923-Jan 15, 1961) who I assume is his brother. I did take pictures of the other stones so if you create memorial pages for them let me know and I'll post the pictures....Mary

The obit. lists his surviving wife as a different person than you indicated. Can you clear this up before I put your information on his memorial?
