I have always been interested in genealogy and actively started researching my family about 15 years ago. I joined ancestory.com in Spring of 2011. It saddens me to see cemeteries in disrepair and the family history lost. I'm grateful that there are people out there working to preserve these records for others and would like to do my part too.

If there are ever any memorials created that need transferred just let me know.

Some family names that I am researching are: Boyer, Bell, Bracy, Booten, Berry, Boone,Derksen, Duke,Gibb, Keener, Kilian, Lovell,Nickel, Parr, Stukey, Stevenson, Walker, Weber

Since this is your family would you like me to transfer management to you? I just take pictures for findagrave.

RE: 87005773 J N Gillan
My bad.
Jasper N. Gillan died FEB. 25th,1900 not July 25th.
I either wrote it down wrong or couldn't read my own writting.
I can't findmy original scribble right now.
I corrected and added the state ( Ind. ) and company to the memorial.
Is a good chance he is who you say he is.
I wonder if the first reject for benefits was maybe for disability ?

Heather,
I don't know the relationship between J. N. and Nancy Gillan.
I also may have the month of death wrong for J.N.
I've ran into this before at the court house, poor writting.
There is an artilcle in the Oquawka Spectator dated FEB. 28th,1900 for a Jasper N. GILLAND (could be a transcription error). I don't know what it says yet.
Also wonder who paid for Nancy's stone, it a good size one and not the cheapest back in the day. Nancy's original marker is concrete and still there.
Also wonder who the informant was on Fannie's death record.
I find anything, I'll let you know.

Give Dwight Sargent a call about the head stone, he may have an idea. He's in the book and is a Biggsville number.

In the Ross / Evans cemetery book, it states that Francis has a metal marker.
Some of the metal marker is still there, but no letters or words on it now.
Metal markers have a hard time surviving mowers.
The only people I know for sure that re set stones are the same people that sell and install monuments.
I am unclear as to Illinois state laws concerning such activities if one is not related to the stone they are working on.
Do you know anything about Fanny's husband?
People have asked me where he is and I have no clue.

RE: Boyer @ Oquawka Cemetery
I struck out at the court house, they are real busy with the election coming up.
I'll go next week and go thru all the Boyer names I can find, might get lucky that way.
