"I can send you some articles we found in the Cody Cowboy newspaper regarding the Lesserts if you would send me your email. It seems there may be two cemeteries for Gamble posted on Find A Grave. Patsy" My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.

I found a larger picture of Mary's stone on Ancestry and was able to read the inscription. Perhaps you can clarify the cemeteries and their names, it's confusing, Gamble? St. Mary's? Martin? Stinking Creek? since you have 'boots on the ground' in South Dakota.

You have provided much news. That Mary Valandry Lessert is buried with Samuel Lessert. Can you tell me which is correct ~ that they are buried at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Stinking Water Creek, Gamble, South Dakota or is it St Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Martin, Bennett, SD?
Susan Margaret Lessert Green is my great grand aunt. Thank you very much for the postings for Susan, John Green, Samuel and Mary Lessert. It is so very exciting to see them. And to see them on their memorials. Can you make out the inscription on Mary's stone? Your work is a blessing. Thanks again. Where is your family tree connected to the Lesserts if I might inquire. Sharon

I will really appreciated any Lesserts you can find Patsy!! My great grandfather Samuel Lessert was buried there too in 1921. I have records though that say: St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Stinking Water Creek, Gamble, South Dakota, but I'm not sure of the accuracy or place. His wife Mary Valaundry died in 1944. I don't know where she was buried. With him? Do you ever go to Holy Cross Cemetery, Pine Ridge, South Dakota? My 2x great grandmother Emily Chattilon was buried there in 1905 in: lot 41, Holy Cross Cemetery, Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Any Lessert's or Robertson's stones that you find would probably be my family and I'd love to have pictures of stones for them. [Family plot]? Martin Community cemetery, South Dakota is supposed to be the place for the Robertsons: It has beem diffiicult to get any pictures from SD areas. I don't know what you cover for Findagrave so I'm trying to give you what I can. Maybe you'll find something. That would be wonderful. Thanks, Sharon

Thank you so much for their tombstone photo. Do you still have the photo and can you add it to their daughter Harriet? Thanks :)

Thank you very much for the picture of Vina Lessert's marker. Did you notice any other Lesserts in the cemetery?
|Jo Lynn Shafer||Alfred Elwess|
Thank you for the photo of Alfred's headstone! We really appreciate you for this! I am so pleased to see that he has a headstone. My Great-Aunt Ida Elwess Irwin (who passed away last year at 99) had told me that when Alfred died, the family placed a glass jar on his grave with a piece of paper in it with his name on it. I didn't think that would still be there, but I was sure hoping that his grave was marked somehow so that it would not be lost. Thank you so much for helping us to see Alfred's grave!
