RE: Wiley D. Larrowe
Hi Lily,

Apologize if you have received a similar message from me. I 'm not sure the first one went out.

In any case, sorry I can not help with any of your questions. My grandfather (Wiley) never mentioned his family to me aside from having brothers John and EPP. I don't suppose that is all that unusual. I do remember my mother saying she knew nothing about his (Wiley's family) aside from she thought his mother's name was Swindle.

Sorry and good luck.

Wiley D. Larrowe
Hi Lily,

Wiley Larrowe was my maternal grandfather. Thank you so much for your contribution.

Wiley married Gertrude Williams of Comer's Rock, Va. Gertrude was one of 10 children born to G. W. and Sara Williams. G.W. brought the first power saw mill to Grayson County, VA in ~ 1885.

Wiley and Gertrude had 5 children with only a son, Don Carlos and a daughter Celene surviving past childhood. Wiley was a school teacher and later became a circuit rider then minister for the Methodist church. He served "country circuits" in Wythe, Grayson, Tazewell counties in Virginia and Hamblin county in Tennessee.

Thanks again

Mary Ann Brown
Thomas Nelson Stephens & Mary Ann Swindell are my gg grandparents. I know so much about this family as their granddaughter (my grandmother) lived to be 106 - & her 4 siblings lived to be 100+. I've been to many a Stephens reunion & cannot recall one person who knew about Mary Ann Brown & Joseph Swindell/le so I would very much like to know about them. I didn't know about the Marriage to Mr. Martin until I stumbled upon the Find A Grave, then checked the MO Death records. No wonder she was hard to find!

I visited your flower at the memorial for John Swindell. Thank you for the information! Do you by chance descend from Emily Swindell Stephens Martin? I descend from the father of William Stephens, who moved to Monroe County MO & wrote the reknown Stephens letters to his brother Leonard. Do you know when Emily's first husband, Lewis Lunsford Stephens died. All I can find is that it was before 1859.
