I'm different than some Find-A-Grave members where I add memorials of non-family members only if I have actually visited the gravesite. But that's just my own personal policy - I've no complaint with anyone else.

If you need a marker photo from a cemetery owned by the City of Grand Rapids Michigan (no private or church cemeteries) or Oakwood Cemetery in Lowell Michigan, send a message to me. But if you have the actual section / lot / plot number of any cemetery in the West Michigan area, send a message to me.

Fred and Hugh Higgins Jr. Brothers
Thank you, Ken for putting the shared tombstone picture of Fred Higgins and brother Hugh Higgins Jr., on their memorial site in Oakhill Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI.
Their mother Martha J. "Mattie" Lewis, Higgins, Pierce later married 3/h Cyrus Elial Babcock my great uncle, older brother of my grandmother
Elfa Rose Babcock, Foster, Monks.
I didn't remember writing to thank you for your picture that you posted.

Albert Bell
Information on his father was already contained in the bio section. Have linked him to his mother, and posted the obituary, for which I thank you very much.

RE: Ida Buttermore
I suppose Ida could have been married before Albert Bell, she was 18 at that time. She is listed on the 1860 census as 2yr old daughter of Myron & Mariah Chalker. Myron died in 1864 in the Civil War and Maria married Wm Oliphant. I do not find Ida in 1870, she is not with her Mom & William & sister Ella.
Her death certificate does say Hiram for a father.
I guess we keep looking.

James Colby
Thank you for checking out the cemetery for a
stone for James Colby. I got the information
from the Grand Rapids city clerk and she
sent me the locations for the gravesite.
Other family buried there were his 1st wife,
Laura, d. 9/6/1926 (grave 7), his daughter and
son-in-law, Flora and Olin Clyde Tucker (d. 5/15/1901 and 16 May 1923, graves 4 & 5). These
are probably all the plots that you said didn't
have stones. I do have a amall obit for James,
so that is helpful. Again, not everyone had
the money for stones. Appreciate your trying.
