Thank you to all the many contributors who make this site possible! I have found a treasure trove of information that has helped me in my genealogy quests!|
My current research focuses on the Ward and Sellers families of North and South Carolina. My Ancestry.com name is WardSellers and my tree is public so you can see all the information, photos and generations that I have found over the years.
Please feel free to use any photo that I have posted here on Find-A-Grave in any way that does not include sale or publication! Feel free to post them on Ancestry.com or any other family tree maker you are using. I am happy to share them with you and hope you are as delighted to find them as I have been to find photos from others!
For Transfer Requests: I will happily transfer any memorial I have created to appropriate family members!

|John Mallory Land||RE: Thanks|
Aside from what was reported in the local newspaper about the incident, I don't know anything further. I do have the following:
Per “Britton & Dobbs Funeral Home Records, 1889-1971,” transcribed and edited by Patsy Daniel Wright (2010), p. 775: Edward T. DAVIS, residing at 1131 Fourth Avenue, died 28 JUN 1933, aged 45 years, 5 months, and 6 days, of a gunshot (murdered – no attending physician reported); interred 29 JUN 1933 at Linwood.
Entry in the Sexton's card file for Linwood Cemetery shows: Edward Thos. DAVIS, male, died aged 44 years in Columbus of a gunshot by another man; interred 6-29-1933 in Section 2, Lot 999, by undertaker [Charlton Lafayett] Torbett, per local death certificate #11581 - Sexton Jesse Alec BEARD. [Note: Torbett was bought out by Britton & Dobbs, so the funeral home record appears in their files.] The following are also interred in Section 2, Lot 999:
Janie DAVIS (no dates - moved to this lot in 1888; Mem. #166251545); Edward Travis DAVIS (1856-1934, Mem. #166252295); and Elizabeth (WILBURN) DAVIS (1865-1949, Mem. #166252182).
I see in the newspaper reportage that E. T. was a veteran of World War I. His service card shows he enlisted 13 DEC 1917 at Fort Oglethorpe and served in the 615th Aero Squardon; he was rated Private First Class 10 FEB 1918; Corporal 01 JUN 1918; and Sergeant 01 NOV 1918. Since his grave is not marked, he is eligible to have a grave monument provided free of charge by the Veterans Administration as a benefit of his military service. I would be glad to submit an application to have one sent and place it in the lot, if you would like (I do this as a volunteer service). Are you kin to him (the application must be authorized by a relative - it doesn't matter how distant or indirect the kinship). Please let me know. I will check into Willie Ernest LYONS. Thanks. - John

It is the lady who put the picture above yours on the same memorial.

It has been brought to my attention that the photo you have on her memorial is not a photo of her. Someone has added the correct photo. You might want to remove it since it is not correct. Thank you for your help.

|CV||pic request - Graceland Fl|
Hello, I have recently found an old map of Graceland in Miami Fla. The sections are not physically mapped but sites can be found if you provide more information. Please contact the office to get the section/lot. I will be returning to that cemetery in the spring and might be able to help you.

I transferred this one to you because she is a granddaughter of John & Addie Armstrong. Her Mother was Mary Armstrong who married Horace Monroe Lyman. Mary was a daughter of John and Addie.

The Armstrongs are not in this Cemetery. They are in Pineview Cemetery in Mount Holly, Gaston County NC. The person who made out their Memorials has pasted on. So if you want to you can make out New Memorials For them in Pineview and make request for them and I will added the pictures for them. Also have pictures of their Kids Harold Armstrong Jun 1 1923 - Feb 14 1966, Myrtle Armstrong Phillips Mar 25 1916 - Jun 16 2007,And Clarence A Armstrong he already has a memorial The others don't. If you don't want to do them let me know and I will add
