Gibbons family
Yes, Melba was my great-aunt, and my mom and her siblings spent a lot of time with Melba's kids growing up.

You're right, I'm the same "generation" as your father!

I've never heard what Jacob died of either. I knew he was the first grave in the cemetery, but I have no idea what he died of at such a young age.

Good to hear from you!

Re: Mason Gibbons

I'm descended from Viola Gibbons Roley through her daughter Sarah Roley Rosentreter. I lived in Portland up until I left for college, and we always had family reunions in the area, usually in Washougal, and I've been to the cemetery there several times. My great uncle Harold Roley wrote down a lot of his remembrances of the area, including some related to the Gibbons and Fletcher families.

Mason Gibbons
Hi Shelley! It looks like we're cousins. Mason was my great-great grandfather. Children have to be linked from their page; they can't be linked from the parents' page, unfortunately, and I don't have control over the memorials for the other 4.. I'm aware of 4 other children: Abigail, Joseph, Susanna, and Frank. Abigail and Joseph are also buried in Washougal Cemetery, and have entries here on Find A Grave, but are not linked to their parents. I am unaware of burial locations for Susanna and Frank.
