| Bio and Links | I am interested in the family history of the Stamps and Goss families that lived in the Daisy, Atoka, Stringtown areas in the late 1800's and early 1900's. W.H. Goss, or Preacher Goss was a Baptist minister in Daisy and preached to the Choctaw Indians in their native tongue. The Goss School was donated and built by him. If you have any information about these hardworking moutain folk please let me know. Thank you. Victoria Stamps Chandler | |

 | RE: John Vernon Wilkerson Victoria, the FindaGrave memorial for John Vernon Wilkerson says the grave is at this plot: Block 12, Lot 4, Grave 2, Section F. We got the map of the cemetery from the cemetery office and when we went to that location, we found NO headstone or gravesite for John Wilkerson. The only graves in that section are infants. So I took a photo of that area to show you where he was possibly buried...but there's no marker or anything. I'll go to the cemetery office Monday and see if they have a different location for him than the one listed on his memorial here at Find A Grave. I'd hate to think such a hero spent time in Andersonville and now has an unmarked grave! I'll let you know what we find out. | | |
