RE: Horace Gordon's middle name King or Kirby
His mother was a sister to Horace C. King (possibly Horace Crane King) - maybe that explains the 1870 census entry as Horace C. Gordon...??

RE: Horace Gordon's middle name King or Kirby
The information re: Horace Gordon came from the SIGS publication "Fairview Cemetery, Vol. VIII", p. 55. It gives his name as Horace Kirby Gordon. This information normally would come from the Burial Register or the Plat Book. It could very likely have been misread or mistyped - I currently don't have access to either of those books to verify. I noticed the 1870 census has him enumerated as Horace C. Gordon; the 1930 lists him as Horace King Gordon.... The obituary included in the SIGS publication actually has Homer K. Gordon. Unfortunately, I see a lot of discrepancies (not just in this case). With King being a family name, I agree that the middle name is very possibly King as per 1930 census and family records that you state. . . I am more than happy to change the middle name to King and note that it was entered as Kirby in the SIGS publication (and I will take a look at the Burial Register and/or Plat Book when time allows.) If you think it should be handled otherwise, please let me know. Beth Day Nolan (liz)

Pine Ridge Cemetery
This cemetery is basically abandoned. As one of the oldest cemeteries in Bay County it has been adopted by a group called the Friends of Pine Ridge. As far as I know there are no records remaining of the burials and locations. I am unable to walk the entire cemetery to locate graves. You might contact the Friends of Pine Ridge Here's a page on the cemetery
The transcription online only gives the name and what's on the tombstone not the location.

You contacted me about the family of John & Eliza Dennis Gordon. I am not a member of that family and have transferred their childrens' memorials to bev. You should contact her if you have additional info. However, if I still have some members of the family that you want linked or more info added for, please let me know. Douser
