|Born and grew up in Hillsdale PA. Retired USN with 20 years. I love photography so please don't mind me if I add pictures for a "more scenic" or "more complete" picture of headstones / cemeteries.|
If all you have done is create a memorial and did no research to find out who the person was, please don't get upset if I have and ask you to edit a memorial. Preserving and documenting the deceased so they are not forgotten is what I enjoy doing.
** Remember that a LOT of the online databases prior to 2000 are NOT always correct and until you've WALKED the cemetery and have the picture to prove it - don't trust what you read from someone that hasn't. I am not an "obituary chaser", if I have created a memorial it is because I have walked the cemetery and will eventually post a photo to go with them OR they are family/friends.
Feel free to borrow pictures, I only ask that you give credit where it's due. If anyone would like possession of a memorial, I will be more than glad to hand them over - provided you are related!

It was a cold day, but last chance I had before winter set in. Stopped at Friends Cemetery in Grampian, then picked up a cousin in Arcadia to ride along, stopped at Thompson, Rowley and East Mahoning Cemeteries. Primarily tried to get family (Johnson, Kerr and Bartlebaugh) gravestones. But took a few others knowing they were in family tree and names from my childhood (Duck, Longenecker and Globun)

Thank you so much for finding John Gormish. I drove up there from Johnstown and searched 3 or 4 cemeteries in about 2 hours. I found another Gormish but didn't see this one. Thank you again for your assistance.

The bodies weren't relocated to another cemetery, they were relocated in that cemetery. It may have been to widen the road or something like that. It's been so long ago I can't remember if they actually relocated bodies or just talked about it. Williams and Griffiths families are also buried in Pine Flats. There were two Williams farms on Griesmore road the one by the cemetery and then one in Griesmore. If you make a left in Griesmore and go toward 551 that farm was owned by Griffiths and now by Smiths.

Thank you. Now, when I finally win the lottery I'll go to Wales and take the photo for my GG Grandmother Elizabeth (Jones) Williams; buried at St. Margarets Church in Flintshire. I could use another trip since I retired from the Navy 20 years ago.

No I haven't stopped by there in awhile. What war was the marker from? I did try to do some research on family search and ancestry.com, but haven't found any of the names in Veterans files. I'm sure that there are more people buried there than have headstones. I am thinking that some of the graves have been moved but can't remember for what reason. I can remember and old church there until the late 50's or early 60's. Most if not all of the land around there belonged to the William's family at one time. I don't live in the area now, but hope to be moving back soon.
By the way who owns the land now. They have been doing a lot of logging around there. Once my husband and I move back we would be more than willing to help with the up keep. There is another cemetery between Greismore and Pine Flats that could use a little work and I do know that Civil war vets are buried there. I will try to talk to some of the families in the area and see what I can find out.

Thanks, not even sure were to start. Inez Bartblebaugh (Great-grandmother) Lloyd Bartlebaugh (Great-grandfather or step ggf?) Willis and Jennie (Great-grandparents), Abner Marsh Bartlebaugh and Nancy Bartlebaugh (Great-great grand parents) should be in Rowley Cemetery (need photos). Charles and Virginia (Kerr) Johnson are buried in Thompson Cemetery (need photos). That's just to start. Need to make a road trip.
|Ken Ruffner||Fairview grave question|
Hi. My name is Ken Ruffner and I have been trying to find the burial site of my great grandmother. Her name was Edith Ruffner and she died in 1921. Her death certificate states she was buried at Fairview Cemetery..Years ago a relative, now deceased, said she was buried in the right rear of the cemetery next to her mother, Elizabeth Hadden, and their graves were "sideways" (?). My brothers and I have tramped all over looking but have found nothing... and neither of these people are listed in the interment list...I am wondering of those two stones nobody knows about with the initials on them could be them?? We DID find my gggg grandfather Henry..... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.Ken
Thank you so much for posting a photo of my grandfather, Stanley Augustine's grave. I was in the area and could not find the church. Because of your posting I was able to locate his grave and visit. It meant a lot to me. I had not been in the Heilwood area for over 50 years.
My grandmother, Agnes, was supposed to be buried next to my grandfather. She passed away in the Detroit area where she was living with my aunt Virginia. At the time of her passing, there were not funds available to ship her remains to PA. So she is buried in Detroit, next to Aunt Virginia and her husband John Kowardy and my father, Albert Augustine.

|Barbara Farlow||Peter Fyock Family|
I added Catherine Fox's name to Peter's bio. You wouldn't have any info about Malinda R. "Linnie" Fyock or Irene L. Fyock who married Edward Gaston. I couldn't find them listed anywhere but I don't have very good research tools. I appreciate all you have done, the photos and info are awesome!

I have change to your suggested cemetery.
