|EJQ||E. E. Stephens|
Sorry for the misinformation, it was hectic here yesterday.
I searched for Edgar's death certificate on FamilySearch.org, and found his parents listed as James Stephens and Carrell (it was spelled that way) Morse. I guess I had Edgar J confused with Edgar E. James and Carrell are both listed on the D.C. as being born in Mississippi, and so was Edgar. The certificate is "E. E. Stephens" born September 11, 1882, died in December of 1942.

Hi, Tina, welcome to Find A Grave. Hmm, Ancestry says that Edgar is my second cousin three times removed, whatever that means.
There are Stephens buried in Wolfe City that are tied to Itawamba County, Miss. My spelling can be horrid. Edgar's father was Zachariah Marion Stephens (1851-1937) who served in both Houses of the Mississippi State Legislature. From Itawamba, there are Stephens in Union County, Mississippi. Edgar is grandson of Dr. Redden Byrd Stephens, born in 1826, and great grandson of Zachariah Stephens (1787-1881), from South Carolina, to Mississippi. His wife was Tabitha Powell. A. A. (Albert) Stephens, my gr. gr. grandfather, is son of Green Shelton, or Green Sheldon Stephens d. in 1862, brother to Redden Byrd. I think I have this right, I made notes, but my two kids, 14 and 16, plus my husband, have interrupted me, quite a lot.
See Stephens Cemetery, Manatachi, Itawamba County, Mississippi, or search Zachariah Stephens Itawamba County, Manatachi, Mississippi. Google has some information, I found my great great grandfather, Albert's obit through Google. You might find Edgar's.
Good luck, let me know if I can be of further help
