I live in Mt. Pleasant, SC and have been researching my family roots for the past 2 years. It's been fun, and this site makes it even more fun.
Family names on my Dad's side: primarily Wood, Hendrix and Tarbutton. So far, I have traced them to Pickens Co., SC; Cherokee, Hall, Lowndes, Chatham, Pickens and Walker Counties, GA; and Florence Co., SC.

RE: Emily Roberts Hendricks/Hendrix
Pam, Thanks for answering me. I gotta laugh because sometimes I make the stupid kind of mistake. That's what happens too late at night. I sent the generations wrong for my husband's descent from William G. and Emily. Nice to talk with a cousin.

husband>his mother (both living) >Vera Coltrane Jones>Bertha Mae Holcomb Coltrane>William Washington and Julia Ann Hendricks/Hendrix Holcomb>William G. and Emely Hendricks/Hendrix>Absolum Hendricks/Hendrix

Emily Roberts Hendricks/Hendrix
Hi! My name is Mika Shaw Chatham and I have been working on my husband's family for some time now. Emily and William G Hendricks were his 3rd great grandparents. I have been looking for William and Emily's marriage record for sometime. Could you share where you found her maiden name of Roberts? Husband's line is William and Emily to daughter Julia Ann who married William Washington Holcombe to their daughter Bertha who married Lewis David Coltrane to their daughter Vera Evelyn who married Cicero H Jones. Vera and Cicero were my husband's great grandparents. Thank you for sharing the source if you have it. I always enjoy 'meeting' new 'cousins'.

Of course I will! I actually have no relation to the family. I believe what happened is that I came across the obituary for his daughter Alice and added her. Then the volunteer from Mount Hope added photographed the rest of the family for me. Let me know the memorial #s of the other family members you would like.

I have really enjoyed this site and like using it as another way to remember my grandparents and other family members.
