|I'm pretty new at this. I'm not that great with a camera but I will try to take requests for pictures in the Gaston Memorial Park, Armstrong, Olney Presbyterian, Pisgah Presbyterian, and Lutheran Chapel cemeteries in Gastonia, NC.|
Folks, I understand that once I post some writing or a picture that I own it. Frankly, I'm not worried about copywriting my submissions here. If you'd like to use a description, picture, etc. please feel free to do so. I'm not a professional writer or photographer (as you can see by my work) and I'm not at all concerned about someone copying the information I post. I'm just glad that, in some small way, I may have helped you. That's how I became involved with Find A Grave. I googled my great-great-great-grandmother's name and was directed to a picture of her grave. Along with her tombstone there was another stone that detailed her children and their spouses. What a gold mine for someone doing a family tree! I figured if someone took the time to photograph that then I could pass on the favor. Here is the link for that photo if you're interested. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=williams&GSfn=triphena&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSst=29&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=47411067&df=all&
When I post a photo I go to Google Earth (I don't have a handheld GPS) and try to pinpoint the grave on a map of the cemetery. I then post the approximate coordinates of the grave. It should be within a few feet of that point.
If you have any tips for a newcomer please feel free to contact me.
