Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am researching many of the last names in my family, this includes Moody, Wright, Curtiss, Stevens, Clayton, Stargardt and Jones. My roots are firmly planted in almost every country in the world, most prominent in my past is German, Dutch and Portuguese. I would be happy to transfer any of my memorials to their family. I am currently Working with the Butte County Cemetery in Oroville CA, The cemetery is in horrible shape and we hope to restore it to a good condition so the families of the people there will have a place to grieve.

RE: butte county cemetary
I was there yesterday and found the grave I was looking for. All the grave stones look like they were hand made so they are not very professional. Cheap is the word! I would also think they did not use good stone so that is the reason for them not lasting; fragil! Plus, when mowing, the blades can hit the stones but the rock is not good. When these folks went into this hospital when they became sick and did not have any means of paying for anything and then died, this plot of land is where they were buried at the cost of the county. If family members stepped forward, the bodies were taken elsewhere. If not, they were buried in the Butte County Cemetery. I have a copy of the grave map showing where everyone is buried and their names. I got it yesterday from the County Works Department. Reason we found the individual we were looking for so easily. Butte county cemetery
I have the map (6 pages) of where folks are buried and their names for the Butte County Cemetery or was once called the Infirmary Cemetery because of the County Hospital that was near by and when folks died and didn't have a means of paying, this piece of ground is where they were buried. It does need some tender loving care. Linda

RE: Demaris Whitcomb
Thanks for your note Rebecca. I show Nathaniel Wilder & Demaris Whitcomb Wilder as my 8th Great Grandparents thru their youngest son Elias Wilder (1726-1808), my 7th Great Grandfather. I beleive that made us long distance cousins.
