RE: James Watson
I am not sure if I have previously answered your post or not. I took a two year break from doing ancestry research, due to the time consuming nature of this work. I descend from James Madison Watson. Here is a bit of information on him. Find A Grave Memorial# 114086103

Thanks for contacting me. Let me know if I can answer any more questions, or help out with your research.

RE: James Watson
Hi Lynne,

Whitfield was my 4th Great Grandfather. His daughter Hester married into the Pickens family line, and that is my mother's family.

As for the Watsons, Hester's son Oris Elvin Pickens married Myrtle Watson, who was the daughter of James M. Watson.

James Watson (Myrtie's father) was born in 1837 and died in 1900. He is believed to be buried in Cloverdale, Indiana. I have spent a great deal of time trying to find his grave marker, but to no avail. I believe he is buried in Walters Cemetery in Cloverdale, because many people in his family (including both of his wives Emma and Malissa Walters Watson 1838-1874), were laid to rest there. MANY of the headstones are so old and weather worn that you can no longer read them. I believe one of those damaged markers is likely James'.
