RE: Thank you for the Photo of Roberta Washington Grave Marker
You're welcome! Regarding Bernice James, I haven't claimed it because I'm not sure I will be able to do it in the two-week period that starts once you click 'claim'. My next three Saturdays in a row are booked up with other plans, so if I were claim it now, I would not have enough time to do it. I work full time during week.

That being said, if the request is still open as soon as I'm free, I will gladly do this one for you. Don't give up hope! It will get done.

Take care,
B.J.

Ooops!
Sorry about calling you Roberta! I'm not usually that careless. As you know, that's the name of one of your photo requests! I was trying to hurry and typed the message too fast.

Plot locations are very helpful! I just wanted you to know the reason why the requests are done so slowly at Lincoln. They also don't have very good signs and/or markings to be able to navigate it easily, but it is a well-cared for cemetery and fortunately, the markers are usually not covered by grass.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer for the photo!

Regards,
B.J.

RE: Bernice James Grave Marker PHOTO
Hi Roberta. There are a couple of problems with Lincoln, the first one being the limited weekend hours that the office is open. The lady who works in the office keeps the door locked and only lets one person or family in at a time. If she is busy, the wait could be a long one. They don't have any records on computer and she has to go to the vault and look up locations in old ledger books. Because Bernice's burial is fairly recent, maybe it won't take as long.

If someone does not claim your request in the next few weeks, I may be able to go there on a Saturday in the near future. You probably shouldn't remove old photo requests and then do them again; some volunteers take the oldest requests first and they might not notice your 'note'. Please be patient! I have an open request since Dec. 2013. I've had requests for a year or two that eventually did get fulfilled. Keep in mind that there are new, eager volunteers joining all the time.

Best regards,
B.J.

RE: George Collins Grave Marker Request:
If you just follow the website request page, they will postal mail the location. It's a waste of time calling because they do not honor phone calls. The management makes up their own rules and this is the reason for the confusion and the reason I am seeking a higher authority. Thank you for repsonding

RE: Neva Ann Wood Photo Grave Marker
You are welcome, I work for the cemetery and the statement that they don't like Find-a-grave volunteers taking pictures is incorrect. The company policy is that a contract is needed to take commercial photographs or videos.
We have reached out to Find a grave to ask them to remove the statement on our cemetery page.

Happy to help as far as able.
I also found four undocumented WERNIGK plots in the adjoining lot, and have built memorials for them.
