I have been researching my maternal side for about 15 years. Major names: Yager and De Gant. I have created a 300-page slideshow showing my research of the Jäger-Yager-Rolf and Warneke lines, as well as a shorter book on the Anton De Gant family line. My paternal side covers Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Savannah.I have many photos of gravesites and markers. These pages are in my Ancestry.com family tree entitled Sheeran Tree by Maryrose. Contact me if interested.|

|Barbara Murphy||family of Joseph DeGant|
My grandmother Hellen R. DeGant (born 1878), was the daughter of John R. DeGant, brother of Joseph DeGant (and with whom he worked in the glass business in Wheeling, WV.
FYI, Anton was a 'furrier' who trapped, tanned furskins. Family lore has it that he disappeared or never returned from checking trap lines -- don't know if he was injured, drowned, or died of natural causes. At least one of the sons was 'adopted' by a couple in Indiana, and Anton's widow resettled in Wheeling with her daughter's family.
Hi Mary Rose, the first born son of this couple was John Edgar Jr.m b, 2 March 1909 in McComb MS ans d, 28 Aug. 1916. He is buried in Day's United Methodist Church Cemetery near Liverpool LA. I have a photo of his gravestone if you want it. Your memorial page on Mattie's site says he died about 1910 - do you mind correcting that date? I have heard about the deformities but only that - do you know what was wrong with the children? Judy

|Cheryl Nail||RE: a FAG site for Margaret Bertschy?|
Sorry about putting the wrong photo on Michael Bertschy. I've removed Margaret's and uploaded Michael's. I'm working my way through a large number of photos that I took while on Vacation, and I clicked on the wrong one. Margaret will have a memorial soon. Any photos I have that are not on Find A Grave I am putting on a spreadsheet so I can upload them all at the same time. Then once the memorials are added I'll go back and add the photos.
