I am the family's historian and genealogist. I have done extensive research into the original vital records for the Miller, Jameson, Koeger, and Rauch families.

When I request a transfer it is because the memorial I am requesting is related to me. I only collect relatives' memorials in the interest of correcting and adding information and connecting them to other relatives within the Find-a-Grave site.

Maria Magdalena Heinrich Miller & Frederick Miller
Thank you so much for all the genealogical and other detail information you have given me. I would like to add to that by explaining the kindness of this couple to my great grandfather, George John Smith (1866-1953) who was "adopted" (probably not legally, because he retained his birth name)by them after the simultaneous deaths of his parents (George Smith (Schmidt?) and Margaret Heinrich Smith, Magdalena's sister)in a train crash near Cincinnati, Ohio in July, 1870. My great grandfather's brother, John Smith, went to live with Uncle George Heinrich, but George Smith was too little to be cared for by his then bachelor uncle. Little George was taken in by the Frederick Millers. The Millers always treated my great grandfather as one of the family and he lived with them up until the time he married. His son, my grandfather (Norman George Smith), always spoke warmly of Grandma and Grandpa Miller and we did visit with his cousins and their children. We even have a wooden chair from Grandma Miller's house that we still use. Hopefully this explains the mystery of George Smith always being included with the family on census information, etc. Again, thank you for the photos, etc. I have not been to Colden, NY in years.

Marvin and Ruth Barckley
Christian Miller relationship
Jim-did not have email address for you so here goes. My husband's great great grandfather Samuel Barckley was the brother of Joseph Barckley who married Huldah White. Their son Frank Barckley married Clara Buffum who was the sister of Julia Buffum who married Michael Miller, your grandfather. So we are distantly related thru marriage. Do you live in NY? We live in PA and visited in the Colden area trying to locate Hedges,Barckly,White connections.

If you find any errors or typo's please let me know and I will be happy to make any corrections or if you have any obituaries you would like entered feel free to email them to me at fosterbar@onemain.com -Ruth Miller Barckley
Ironically my maiden name is Miller but my family are all from PA as far as I have been able to trace so far.
