Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family paternal surnames include; Marx, Kukuk, Heintz, & Schaefer. My family maternal surnames include; Gilbert, Swift, Torrance, & Merchant. Other ancestral names include; Schindeldecker, Zengerli, Martini, Klein, Miller, Anderson, Glazier, Green, Bassett, Hitchcock, Utter & Stannard.

The majority of our Gilbert Family records were compiled by Rev. H. S. Sidener, W. G. Ireland, Gilbert Strunk and Alberta Dennison in 1938. Alberta Dennison(1908-2002) updated the records to include those who served in WWII. The most recent comprehensive update, May 1983 was produced through the wonderful efforts of my cousin Bonnie Marie Gilbert Ayling. Bonnie passed away in September 1990.

I have created an extensive family tree on for anyone interested in additional information. Anyone wishing to use the photos I've taken may do so for personal use only. I would enjoy making contact with anyone even remotely related.

RE: Bernard Leis 1830-1904
Thanks for the help with this clean-up, Al! There are so many in the Marx/Leis/Kast/Hansen family from Monroe and nearby counties that sometimes we trip over each other.

Bernard Leis 1830-1904
I created a memorial for Bernard Leis, as I didn't see one for him. When I was checking to see if there was already one for his wife, Catherine I saw that you already had a memorial page for Bernard, but that the dates were incorrect, which is why I didn't find it on my search.

Is it possible to combine the two? I don't know how that is done on Find-A-Grave. Also, the obituary I posted is from a newspaper obit, which I have, and I could send it to you if you want to post the original instead of my transcription. I typed it word-for-word but corrected the punctuation.

Let me know what I should do. Thanks!
