I really do love a mystery. Of all of my ancestors buried in Melrose and Union Cemeteries in Brockton, MA I found them (after finding death record at Mass. Vital Records that had cemetery listed) driving around the cemetery to locate them and take pics. Love it. Been researching my father's family (branches that came from England that lived in Massachusetts). I would love to find your ancestor's grave too. To help the process though when you know what cemetery they are at, contact that cemetery office and ask for the prinout of that grave (it will give you the lot number and who else is buried there)(you will need the death date for sure and they may charge you for the info). Not all people buried in a plot have their name on the stone.

You have my permission to use the pictures I have taken for your own use but please include in the photo caption "used with the written permission of Rebecca Poitras Pierce, Find A Grave, Love a Mystery (#47814970)."

Fletcher Webster GAR 13
I just saw your other message... thank you. I have been researching and locating the soldiers from Weymouth Enlistments in the Civil War... for the Weymouth Historical Society. So that is what brought me to the Fletcher Webster GAR post #13. He was a lifelong resident and the memorial is in a Weymouth Cemetery. I would like to find out more info on that, because there was a lot of land purchased around the memorial as well for the soldiers that didn't have family. I thought it was a lovely idea, and I'd like to get something to the president of the society to do a bit of a write up on area. I was a little surprised to see that the post was in Brockton... and more surprised to see that most members of a post made up for the 12th regiment was mainly comprised of 9th regiment people. I'd like to locate them all. Most of the soldiers in Company H didn't make it back. I'm thinking that the post was actually a memorial in itself for the fallen soldiers.

RE: Appleford/Burton
I'd like the pics both places if you don't mind. One of the small issues I have with findagrave is that you can't "share" a single photo among multiple persons............
