I am a retired secretary living in the Arizona desert. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren; I do my family research for them. |
I was born in Iowa in 1950. I am descended on my father's side from the Brockman Family who were early pioneers to Iowa in 1842. They came west from Indiana, where they were early pioneers to Montgomery County in 1825 from Kentucky with their Leake relatives. The Brockman and Leake Families came to Kentucky around 1805 from Virginia. Before that, the Brockman Family had first located in Virginia c. 1674, when Henry Brockman bought his land after being an indentured servant on a ship for 7 years.
The other families on my father's side are the Weems, Mallory and Crawford families. I am also descended from German immigrants on my mother's side - the Alsdorf, Marks, Pletz, Weller and Oberst families in Missouri and Kansas. I have also taken on the research into my husband's family (Foran, Schmoller and Worzala) and my son-in-law's family (Wehe).
Hopefully, what I have learned during this journey of research will be of interest to the following generations in our extended family lines.

|Curt Phillips||Descendant of Joel Signor & Mary Ann (Brockman) Irish|
My mother was Ferne Inda (Schliemann) Phillips, whose mother was Lulu Bessie (Irish) Schliemann, whose father was Israel Mason Irish, whose parents were Joel Signor and Mary Ann (Brockman) Irish.
Evidently, we are related.
I was going to submit edit request for family links, etc., but discovered duplicate memorials for Joel and Mary Ann.

How much do you know about this gentleman? I'm curious about him because he is from Iowa, and yet he's buried in my family cemetery. I know 98% of the 270 odd burials there, and I know of no connection with Mr. Roy anywhere. There seems to be a story here and I can't help but wonder what it is.
Thanks much for your time.

I'm giving you this memorial. Perhaps you can add some other information to it. Good luck. PP

I linked Chesley with Noah and Mahala Brockman White as you requested. I included the text of your explanation as an aid to other researchers. Thank you for this additional information.

I am glad to reunite her with her family. I am sorry it has taken me this long to get bcak to you I have not been on the computer much lately and so haven't checked this email address for over a month. I have found in my travels that many of the cemeteries have yet to be done out west as well which is why sometimes If I need to strech my legs I stop to take pictures. Again glad to reunite your daughter with her mother.
