RE: Charles Eaton's grave

Charles Eaton
Burial Date 04/17/1964
Garden/Building: Cremated
Lot/Section/Panel: 1964

This is the information on the cemetery website. I would still suggest that you call the office at 650-755-0580.
They can tell you if perhaps he has his ashes inurned somewhere.

RE: John D. Gates, Jr. gravesite
I have pics of all of the graves at Whitmire Cemetery. If you will give me the names you are interested in I will add the pics. Also I added the location of the grave as a note on the pic, I hope that you saw that. If not let me know.

Wilbur McPherson at Madronia
Andrea, I uploaded a photo of Wilbur's grave marker just now. The marker is taller than it is wide, so I took the photo as a portrait rather than a landscape. When I linked it to send, it showed as if it might end up rotated to the left, so if you want me to do the rotation here and re-send the photo, let me know.
Also, Wilbur's marker is white limestone with engraving on its northern exposure. There was not much I could do to get good contrast to make the inscription stand out. Other such markers in the cemetery have had certain colorants placed in the inscription furrows to make them more readable. If you request it, I could re-visit the grave at a very early morning time some time in a couple of weeks, and maybe catch the marker with the sun illuminating the inscription at an oblique angle to make it more easily read. Let me know.

RE: Gerda Pearson Hassler
Graves entered the data off .pdf files the cemetery has. The cemetery doesn't keep photo records that I'm aware of.

I'm happy to look for Ida (and yup, she should be in the next grave, based on the info.) I'm up to the cemetery at least once a week working on projects, so feel free to forward the info for anyone else you might want photographed and I'll find them for you. =)

I just made it to Florida for the first time this summer (we have family in Daytona Beach) and I just loved it. But yes, it's definitely not a day trip from FL to MT!

RE: Gerda Pearson Hassler
Hi Andrea!

You're very welcome for the photo.

I'd love to transfer Gerda to you--but I'm not the maintainer of her memorial. The person you want to contact is "Graves" (,) who did a ton of work putting in the records for the Missoula Cemetery back in February 2012. Graves is really super about transfers, so I'm pretty certain it'll be no problem. It looks like she's currently on vacation, so it may be a bit of a delay getting a response, but she usually catches up pretty quickly.

I look forward to "checking in" on Gerda to see the information you add. I always enjoy learning a little bit more about the folks in the city cemetery, particularly the folks I've gone looking for.

If there's anything else I can help you with please let me know--have a lovely week!
