Hi there. I've transferred your great-grandfather's memorial to your care. I'm so very glad to be able to do so.

Just to let you know, you can also request a transfer for your great-grandmother's memorial as well. The "creator" reads Veteran's Affairs but it's really Find A Grave that manages all the VA entries. You can send a SAC thru the Edit tab, mention this is your great-grandma and ask for it to be transferred.

Another FYI - you can request a photo be added of their headstones/markers by clicking on the "Request A Photo" button. Since your granddad just passed away, I'd wait at least 6 weeks before asking for a photo - this gives the cemetery time to place the marker. And I always wait to ask for the spouse then as well. Even though she's been gone long enough for a marker to be in place, I don't want to send the photo volunteers twice to the same plot.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth of help. If you ever need anything more, please don't hesitate to leave a message on profile page.

Sincerely,
Emily

I'm sorry for this second message. I just realized a mistake I made in my first message.

The Edit tab on each memorial is located in the upper RIGHT hand corner (not the left).

Sorry for any confusion.

Again, my condolences.

Regards,
Emily

I am so very sorry for the loss of your great-grandpa. My heart goes out to you and your family. I would be more than happy to make the transfer. All I ask is that you please make the request using the "EDIT" tab on the memorial itself (in the upper left hand corner). Just click on this tab then on the "suggest a correction" link. Type a quick note and send. This will send an e-mail to me (even though my e-mail is not publicly visible). Doing a request this way ensures that I know exactly which memorial to transfer as the memorial number is automatically connected with your request as well as your member number - I need both numbers to make the transfer.

Again, you and your family have my condolences and will be in my prayers.

Sincerely,
Emily
