I've been doing genealogy research for about 35 years. I started before you could turn on your computer and do the research from your home. While I enjoy the convenience of using the internet to do research, I still enjoy the more "hands on" approach. I've taken many trips over the years to courthouses, cemeteries, to visit elderly family members, etc. along the way. For me, the online research just doesn't bring the same satisfaction that I feel when I am able to go dig up the information in person. I've enjoyed meeting cousins that I never knew I had, and I've also been able to reconnect with family members that I've lost contact with over the years. This has become a great hobby, and I've enjoyed learning all the interesting stories, both good and bad, about my family history. I hope I have and am playing some small part in getting younger members of my family interested in what came before them.

I'm happy to share whatever information that I have. Feel free to use the grave photos that I've added without contacting me. I've uploaded them for your use. All I ask is that you list where you got the photo along with the cemetery, city, state so others can find the grave if they wish to visit it. I'm happy to take photos of graves in my area for other people and upload them to memorials here. I think of it as a kind of payment for those who have been kind enough to get photos for me. I try to take the kind of photos that I would like to have....well focused, as readable as possible, and a good angle.

As for the more PERSONAL PHOTOS, I'd like to be contacted before anyone adds them to another website or uses them in any other way. I love sharing, but I also like to know where and how my research and/or personal family photos will be used, and I like to know that credit is given to the proper individual(s) if my research or photos are used by others. I feel it's extremely important that future researchers be able to get to original sources of pictures and other documents the same way that I and others did. It's very frustrating to see a supposed photo of someone on the internet, but the person posting the photo doesn't have the original, can't tell you where the original is or any other information about it, and doesn't even know for sure that the photo is correctly identified.

I'm happy to transfer any memorials that don't belong to my family. Just let me know if I am managing a memorial which is of your family member, and I'll get it transferred to you ASAP if I'm not related. I like to see memorials in the hands of family or friends who can add to the memorial and make it the best it can be.

Hi Sabrina,
How did your memorial end up in the hands of Find A Grave? I did not think that could happen unless you had misbehaved badly or passed away. I am glad that the latter of the two is not the case. I have just created the memorial for his wife, who will be laid to rest there in the near future.
Thanks for all you do on here; blessings to you.

I am helping a local lady Kathy trace her ancestry and she is descended from James R and Amanda Melvina's son James Clarence. What you put up is wonderful and I wondered if you had a copy of her obit you could share with Kathy and any other proof documents showing dates and places. Thanks so much

Gail Garson
Hi, I was wondering if you would be willing to transfer Gail Garson's memorial over to me? Gail is my mother-in-law and my hubby would greatly appreciate it.
Her memorial number is 105825218.

Ellen Paxton
I found your post on this site for Ellen Paxton 1863-1914. She is a great great in my husbands family and has been a bit of a mystery to us. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Someone else has also posted her name on this site as Laura Ellen Paxton "Washer Woman". I don't believe she ever got married and I know her parents died when she was young and she went to live with an older sister. Beyond that we don't have any information.

Thank you so much for posting the picture and location. I've been looking for more information on Laura for a few years now.

RE: Munroe Graves
Once again, you are more than welcome. I feel like you in that my little bit of help to others sort of repays the help that some have given me. And I don't mind saying, you have one of the best bios I've come across.

This is what makes all of this worthwhile. Again, like you, my wife and I look at Find A Grave as a hobby to help others learn about their past.

Keep up the good work. I'm sure our paths will cross again. If ever we can be of some help, please ask.

He is a second cousin. His brother and parents are there also. As well as my grandparents, aunts and other relatives. Don't really know anything else that will be added but yes I will take it over.
