|I've been doing genealogy research for about 35 years. I started before you could turn on your computer and do the research from your home. While I enjoy the convenience of using the internet to do research, I still enjoy the more "hands on" approach. I've taken many trips over the years to courthouses, cemeteries, to visit elderly family members, etc. along the way. For me, the online research just doesn't bring the same satisfaction that I feel when I am able to go dig up the information in person. I've enjoyed meeting cousins that I never knew I had, and I've also been able to reconnect with family members that I've lost contact with over the years. This has become a great hobby, and I've enjoyed learning all the interesting stories, both good and bad, about my family history. I hope I have and am playing some small part in getting younger members of my family interested in what came before them. |
I'm happy to share whatever information that I have. Feel free to use the grave photos that I've added without contacting me. I've uploaded them for your use. All I ask is that you list where you got the photo along with the cemetery, city, state so others can find the grave if they wish to visit it. I'm happy to take photos of graves in my area for other people and upload them to memorials here. I think of it as a kind of payment for those who have been kind enough to get photos for me. I try to take the kind of photos that I would like to have....well focused, as readable as possible, and a good angle.
As for the more PERSONAL PHOTOS, I'd like to be contacted before anyone adds them to another website or uses them in any other way. I love sharing, but I also like to know where and how my research and/or personal family photos will be used, and I like to know that credit is given to the proper individual(s) if my research or photos are used by others. I feel it's extremely important that future researchers be able to get to original sources of pictures and other documents the same way that I and others did. It's very frustrating to see a supposed photo of someone on the internet, but the person posting the photo doesn't have the original, can't tell you where the original is or any other information about it, and doesn't even know for sure that the photo is correctly identified.
I'm happy to transfer any memorials that don't belong to my family. Just let me know if I am managing a memorial which is of your family member, and I'll get it transferred to you ASAP if I'm not related. I like to see memorials in the hands of family or friends who can add to the memorial and make it the best it can be.

Good Morning Sabrina, According to Admin if there is not more information, match the headstone. But, if more official documentation comes to light, update of the memorial, including name fields. Which means you provide the documentation such as birth certificate, death certificate, marriage license or any other official document.
Reason for decline, you did not provide proof for change. Proof is always needed for edit/changes, for accuracy. Ancestry trees and census is not considered documentation...Enjoy your day! Take care, Lin

I got the information from her obit. You can go to
http://www.ccgsga.org/ and search for her obit. The following is what is in their index. I have no way to send you the actual obit since it is in pdf format and you don't have an email listed.

You are most welcome!
|Tom Smith||Taylor Photo Requests|
This may be of interest to you. In the Taylor plot at Stripling Chapel Cemetery, all graves are Taylor except for an Infant Merrill, which I photographed.

You have a photo request for Doice and Faye Chandler. I checked this cemetery twice and could not locate their marker. Checked on the obits and they were living in Morgan county. Found them in the Mt.Carmel cemetery at Eva. Have posted their info there. I will request that the info at Berlin be removed

Hi Sabrina, I have been researching the Smith line back to the Crosby line. John Coleman Smith was the Grandson Annie Crosby Smith. Since you left a memorial image on his memorial page, I thought you might be a relative or have additional information on his ancestors. Please let me know if you can help.
|Keith Deel||RE: Thank you!|
No problem, Ambrose & Phoeba Hay are my 3rd great grandparents. Are they any relation to you?
|Barbara L. Kirkland||Dr. William M. Carter|
Re your suggestion to me:
There is a problem with this William Carter and his sister, Mary Carter. If their birthdates are correct, they can't be siblings as they were born only a couple of months apart. I thought you might want to take a look at your records and see where the problem is. I'm not related to them, so I don't know whether the dates are wrong or they are simply not siblings.
I have inserted a note in the bio section of his memorial as I have in my personal records he was born 1/4/1872.
|D. Mack||Foster photo request|
I recently fulfilled your photo request for Madison and Catherine Foster at Fairview Baptist Church in Summers County, WV. If you want the original photographs, please let me know. The stones were a little hard to view the writing.
