I've been doing genealogy research for about 35 years. I started before you could turn on your computer and do the research from your home. While I enjoy the convenience of using the internet to do research, I still enjoy the more "hands on" approach. I've taken many trips over the years to courthouses, cemeteries, to visit elderly family members, etc. along the way. For me, the online research just doesn't bring the same satisfaction that I feel when I am able to go dig up the information in person. I've enjoyed meeting cousins that I never knew I had, and I've also been able to reconnect with family members that I've lost contact with over the years. This has become a great hobby, and I've enjoyed learning all the interesting stories, both good and bad, about my family history. I hope I have and am playing some small part in getting younger members of my family interested in what came before them.

I'm happy to share whatever information that I have. Feel free to use the grave photos that I've added without contacting me. I've uploaded them for your use. All I ask is that you list where you got the photo along with the cemetery, city, state so others can find the grave if they wish to visit it. I'm happy to take photos of graves in my area for other people and upload them to memorials here. I think of it as a kind of payment for those who have been kind enough to get photos for me. I try to take the kind of photos that I would like to have....well focused, as readable as possible, and a good angle.

As for the more PERSONAL PHOTOS, I'd like to be contacted before anyone adds them to another website or uses them in any other way. I love sharing, but I also like to know where and how my research and/or personal family photos will be used, and I like to know that credit is given to the proper individual(s) if my research or photos are used by others. I feel it's extremely important that future researchers be able to get to original sources of pictures and other documents the same way that I and others did. It's very frustrating to see a supposed photo of someone on the internet, but the person posting the photo doesn't have the original, can't tell you where the original is or any other information about it, and doesn't even know for sure that the photo is correctly identified.

I'm happy to transfer any memorials that don't belong to my family. Just let me know if I am managing a memorial which is of your family member, and I'll get it transferred to you ASAP if I'm not related. I like to see memorials in the hands of family or friends who can add to the memorial and make it the best it can be.

Drake Cemetey
Sabrina, I saw where you found that the Drake Cemetery is on private property. I also went by there last year and saw a sigh that said beware of dog. I live in Southwest Florida and did not have the time to mess with a dog. I will be there sometime this summer and intend to try contacting the owner and take pictures of every stone I can find in one trip. Do you know who the property owner is and have you tried to make contact with the property owner? I think that if I had their name and phone # I could make arrangements to take the pictures. Tom

RE: William L. Fields Grave
I am sorry I cannot be of any help to you on William L. Fields memorial, several different people helped me transcribe the information and some was not as accurate as I would have liked. If you want me to I will delete him and you can visit the cemetery and check the info yourself. I did not take a photo of the grave site there have no clue who his spouse is. I don't live in Cedartown therefore seldom go there to visit anymore as I am over 70 years old. I will transfer him to you, delete him, or whatever you want.

RE: Randy Thomas Barry Grave
Sabrina,

Sorry about that. I changed it to the right person. I searched the whole cemetery for his son's grave and could not find him.

Animated flowers
I noticed that you placed an animated flower with bird on my Memorial# 81502007. It's great! How do I find them for my use?

Mrs. Burnham
Hello - I noticed your message on the memorial page for Mrs. Burnham at Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery memorial #57707187 wising we knew her first name. I believe I have it and am related to the Burnham family. her name was:
Minerva Ann Chappell Burnham - Born: June 10, 1822 and died Feb. 5, 1893. She was married to William Burnham - B. 1821 in Georgia and died (I think during the Civil War) 16 April 1862 and is buried at the New Bern National Cemetery which is for veterans and is located in New Bern, N.C He served in the US army during the Civil War.
I will send an edit to the lady who put her memorial page on if that is o.k. with you.
Thank you for all the work you do on this web site and I agree with your philosophy about using the pictures I take. They are there to help others. Ruth

Elizabeth Grogan gravesite
Dear Sabrina, I am very new to finding relatives. I am looking for my great grandmother's grave which is in Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County, Georgia. I hope to pay a visit possibly next week. I need directions on how to find her grave. I am also trying to find her first husband William Dearing who died sometime between 1864-1870. Any suggestions or help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks, Shelia Waskey@ yahoo.com

RE: Joyce Massey
JAMES WALTER MASSEY 1886-1968 WAS THE S/O MARY MALRY WHITE AND WILLIAM MONROE MASSEY. HER FATHER WAS CORNELIUS "NEIL" WHITE AND MOTHER SARA AGNES POE. ONE OF HIS BROTHERS WAS AMERICUS "MACK" WHITE. HE WAS MY GREAT GRANDFATHER. THE ONLY THING I HAVE IN MY BOOK ON THE WHITE'S IS JAMES WALTER MASSEY MARRIED LORENA H. THEIR CHILDREN WERE ARLIN EASTERWOOD MASSEY, ARTHUR MASSEY, EVERETT MASSEY AND JOYCE. JOYCE HAD 1 DAUGHTER BRENDA M. MASSEY. SHE MARRIED TOM MCCARTY. I HAVEN'T DONE ANY RESEARCH ON THE WHITES IN A LONG TIME. ESPECIALLY NOT IN THE LATER GENERATIONS. YOU CAN GO ON FIND A GRAVE AND TRACE THE WHITES. YOU CAN START WITH MY MOTHER NANCY LUCILE THOMPSON BOLLEN, HER MOTHER LILLIE WHITE THOMPSON, HER FATHER AMERICUS WHITE. MY MOTHER AND MY GRANDMOTHER ARE BURIED IN THE BREMEN CITY CEMETERY, HARALSON CO. GA. MY GREAT GRANDFATHER IS BURIED AT MT CARMEL IN CARROLL CO. GA. NEAR TEMPLE. THIS IS NOT A CHURCH CEMETERY. IT WAS ORIGINALLY THE WHITE FAMILY CEMETERY. THE FIRST BURIED THERE WERE ROBERT AND SARAH MANERY BRADBERRY. THEY WERE MY THIRD GREAT GRANDPARENTS, THEIR DAUGHTER MARY ANN MARRIED ABDA WHITE. THEY WERE THE PARENTS OF 12 CHILDREN. NEIL AND MACK BEING TWO OF THEM. THIS WAY YOUR FRIEND CAN TRACE HER WHITE ANCESTORS ALL THE WAY BACK TO MY 4TH GREAT GRANDFATHER ANDERSON WHITE. HOPE THIS HAS BEEN OF SOME HELP.
