I've been doing genealogy research for about 35 years. I started before you could turn on your computer and do the research from your home. While I enjoy the convenience of using the internet to do research, I still enjoy the more "hands on" approach. I've taken many trips over the years to courthouses, cemeteries, to visit elderly family members, etc. along the way. For me, the online research just doesn't bring the same satisfaction that I feel when I am able to go dig up the information in person. I've enjoyed meeting cousins that I never knew I had, and I've also been able to reconnect with family members that I've lost contact with over the years. This has become a great hobby, and I've enjoyed learning all the interesting stories, both good and bad, about my family history. I hope I have and am playing some small part in getting younger members of my family interested in what came before them.

I'm happy to share whatever information that I have. Feel free to use the grave photos that I've added without contacting me. I've uploaded them for your use. All I ask is that you list where you got the photo along with the cemetery, city, state so others can find the grave if they wish to visit it. I'm happy to take photos of graves in my area for other people and upload them to memorials here. I think of it as a kind of payment for those who have been kind enough to get photos for me. I try to take the kind of photos that I would like to have....well focused, as readable as possible, and a good angle.

As for the more PERSONAL PHOTOS, I'd like to be contacted before anyone adds them to another website or uses them in any other way. I love sharing, but I also like to know where and how my research and/or personal family photos will be used, and I like to know that credit is given to the proper individual(s) if my research or photos are used by others. I feel it's extremely important that future researchers be able to get to original sources of pictures and other documents the same way that I and others did. It's very frustrating to see a supposed photo of someone on the internet, but the person posting the photo doesn't have the original, can't tell you where the original is or any other information about it, and doesn't even know for sure that the photo is correctly identified.

I'm happy to transfer any memorials that don't belong to my family. Just let me know if I am managing a memorial which is of your family member, and I'll get it transferred to you ASAP if I'm not related. I like to see memorials in the hands of family or friends who can add to the memorial and make it the best it can be.

Elizabeth Large
I was just looking more closely at my info on ancestry.com, and Aggie Elizabeth McKinney Large was actually born about 1865, so either both birth and death dates are wrong on the gravestone or this is a different Elizabeth Large. I am going to do a little more digging before I change the dates on the Find a Grave entry. Again the death notice from The Big Sandy News would help. Does it say that she is being buried in the Large Family Cemetery? (I am in Minnesota so it may be awhile before I can get back to Kentucky to look through the Big Sandy News at the Library.)

Elizabeth Large
Thanks for the message about Elizabeth Large. I will trust your information since you have seen the death notice in The Big Sandy News on 1 Aug 1889. Aggie Elizabeth McKinney was married to Martin Vanburen Large (1855-1929). I have names of 3 children--Nancy Jane Large (1883-1945), George Large (1886-), and Harrison Large (1888-). You mention 4 children from the article. Could you send me the name of the 4th child? Or better yet, is there any way you could send me a copy of the death notice?---Larry Evans

Francis 'Frank' Marion White
Sabrina,
This is my 2nd great grandfather. I have been researching the White Family for awhile, but until recently I had my 3rd great grandfather misidentified. He is Sanford M (Marion?) White, born abt 1811 in Kentucky. He married Lucinda Harlan, daughter of Jacob and Sarah Combs Harlan. I know that we must be related and I am wondering if you can offer me any help on Sanford, as I know very little about him before the 1850 census. I have gotten much information about these families from North American Family Histories. Another name that is often mentioned is Bybee/Bibee. I am particularly interested in the Bibee family because my great grandmother, married to William Sanford White is buried by some of the Bibee family in Stroud Cemetery. I cant seem to connect them with the Bybee family in Kentucky. One of the Bybee daughters married Lucinda Harlan's brother, which would connect them to my family (and yours, probably), but I cant directly connect them with the family in Stroud in the 1820's.Sharon Williams svw1946@gmail.com

Of course, Sabrina. By all means, do so. I'm here to assist, so let me know if there are other graves out there you need. I'm only about 5 miles from Indian Creek. Glad I could of service to you.

Trying to find some info
Hi, I stumbled across this site and found the info for my grandfather Mesby Harrison Johnson. I was wondering how you came to include him and if you are a relative of ours. Thanks
