I grew up in Waverly, Iowa & moved with my family down to Leavenworth, Kansas in 1993. I am a May 2008 graduate of Kansas State University and was actively involved with the marching band. I'm a huge fan of Kansas State football and hold season tickets. |
One of my biggest interests is in Genealogy and I absolutely love History so its a perfect pairing. I'm fascinated with family histories.
Family names I'm interested in:
Bergman (in IA)
Brandt/Lampe (in IA)
Halweg/Friedrich (in IA)
Tjebkes (in IA)
Stelzer (in IA and MN)
Bohner (in IA and PA)
As for the photos I take for Find A Grave, if you would like me to transfer any memorials to you I would be more than happy to oblige as I am not interested in stacking up numbers for memorials managed. I think those that have that mindset are very rude people. The only memorials I will not transfer are those for my own family unless very distantly related.
Also, if you would like a copy of the original photos posted to memorials please let me know as I am more than happy to send them to you.
CREATED MEMORIALS NOTE:
I will sometimes photograph other plot markers near the graves where I am fulfilling photo requests. If they have no memorial I create one for them and attempt to give them a story based on what I find on ancestry.com.
If at any point you come across a memorial I've created for your ancestor and I have added information you DO NOT want on their memorial, please do not hesitate to let me know and I will gladly remove it. The same applies if there is something that you DO want added to their memorial.
If I have included an obituary on any memorial page and you would like a clipping from the actual newspaper please let me know and I will accomodate.
If I have added something you wish to be removed PLEASE BE NICE ABOUT IT when letting me know as I am not trying to upset anyone. I don't wish to be scolded like a child.
I have cemetery maps for:
Howard Cemetery (Elma, IA)
Maple Leaf Cemetery (Elma, IA)

A belated but heartfelt "thank you!!" For photos and research done in response to my request! Goodness, that was a lot of work! I am very grateful for your efforts, especially since I live in another state.

|3DogsNite||RE: Kroll Family - Mount Calvary (Leavenworth, KS)|
Thanks for the info - and I wanted to point out that Lillian Kroll in the family is two seperate people. One is, from what I can figure out, a baby brought over from the old country by Josephine Kroll and raised as the daughter of Christine Hund Kroll and August Michael Kroll. The older one is the wife of Fred Kroll who shows up on the census as living with the August Kroll family. I have a picture of Fred Kroll with a young woman who seems to be his wife but I cannot tell if it is his first wife Lillian Carlson or his second wife Mary C. Tholl. Oddly enough there is conflicting information about Lillian, Fred's wife, i see that they had a child together, Fred A. Kroll who died at birth in 1920 - I have found a notice of her death in 1922 but then I have evidence she's living elsewhere. There are two Gus, Gustave, "Gust" Carlsons and I cannot determine which is her father - whether she died in 1922 or not or where the heck any of them are buried. the mystery of who the parents are of the young Lillian brought back by Josephine Agnes Kroll at a time she was already married to Alphonse Wohlfrom. The child was listed on the Passenger List 12 April 1880 as Lillie Kroll birth date 1878 aprox. So she is not Josephine Kroll Wohlfrom and Alphonse Wohlfrom's child since her name is Kroll. I'm still working on this mystery off and on not sure it will ever be resolved. Or whether or not Fred's wife Lillie died in 1922 or not.

Thanks for your generous offer but there's no need for you to go to that trouble - the copy itself is sufficient and much appreciated. Of course you are right about the owner, I plead sleep-deprivation (albeit of my own doing) for not figuring that out earlier. I appreciate all your generous help very much.

oh forgot, Grace Downing Taylor's Memorial Number is 131930348. Silly me

This is my maternal Great Grandmother, if you are not directly related/no attachment/bond, would you consider tranferring this memorial to my account? I'm very glad to see your picture of her memorial because until now it has been impossible to know where she was buried, thanks so much.
|carolyn leonard||thank you for the photos!|
Dear Shannon, thank you so much for the great photos of the gravemarkers for Lura Brown and her daughter Lulu Stacy. I really appreciate it. They are my cousins and I was glad to find them.

Thank you very much for the headstone photograph and information on the burials in the plot. I truly appreciate your time and work in acquiring this.
