I was born in Redwood City, CA and raised in various parts of CA and TX and finally settled in a rural town, Mound House, NV. I'm retired from the State of Nevada and after three years of not really knowing what to do with my extra time I stumbled onto FindAGrave which lead me to our local cemetery. Now I'm in the process of adding 5,000 names to Findagrave for our cemetery. Part of this process is researching some of the names in hopes of finding obituaries on names being added. I also enjoy taking pictures of graves for families. I have a passion for working on genealogy and almost every day have another amazing discovery. My husband John and I enjoy traveling and it's my hopes to travel to various places to take my own pictures of family graves. |
I appreciate help from all others who are trying to assist with improving the Lone Mountain Cemetery information. Please know that my information is coming directly from the cemetery records, then this is verified to the County web site and sometimes Ancestry.com before being added. I then walk the section just added to take photos of the grave as further confirmation. This is an ongoing process and links to family members and obits will be added AFTER I have completed the entire cemetery which will probably take a year or more to complete. I will make corrections to what I have added but would appreciate more volunteers adding names and taking pictures so we can complete this process. If you would like more information added, please let me know and I will be more than happy to transfer the memorial to you so you can add that additional information.
It is my hope that my submissions will help to connect someone with their loved ones.
I give my full permission for anyone to use my photos except for USGenweb since they informed me if I use any of their photos they would sue me.

You have taken a picture the above listed grave. Is there any date on the stone? Do the cemetery records indicate when the plot was purchased or by whom.
I am looking for a man of the same name who married a aunt in PA. She was born in 1825 and died prior to 1896 location unknown.
Thank you for your time.

Sorry for the late reply. I would love to mange them both please. Thank you for doing that.

Re merging - just send the two URLs to the edit at email address and they'll merge the memorials. Works for any duplicates but you should try to work things out with the other contributor first to keep edits work load down.
Re Family links on the edit tab. For the time being the links aren't being counted in the number that shows up on the tab. Some sort of little programming glitch. So actually click on the tab to be sure there's nothing there because if it's only links, the number won't show up.
I figure we're doing a good job of complimenting each other working on Lone Mountain. I visited there a few months ago but actually live in Arizona. Which is why I was able to post a few pictures. Now I'm slowly going through the cemetery listings on the Carson City web site and filling in names that haven't been entered. I'm only doing two or three a day because I like to research and see if I can find family links or other info. I figure this way, I'll be able to find unmarked graves and possible errors. Then with your pictures and obits, we should eventually have Lone Mountain in good shape. :-)

Hi again. Sarah's Memorial (#76876579) was transferred to Contributor #46491005, (Shirley), at her request and obviously with the intent of adding linkage()s, one of which you have requested a correction. Per our procedures in Find A Grave, you should contact her for the change(s) you requested. She is a very competent co-worker and will be able to help you. If you have further need for my assistance, please let me know.

Hi Melinda: Since you have the obit., which I don't add, per my personal Find A Grave Bio., paragraphs 3-3, I will be glad to transfer this memorial to you for updating. I will await your reply and have a good day.

You are very welcome Melinda. I had added quite a few photos for Lone Mountain before we moved from Minden. You might come across more. Have a great day and continue the good work.

I'm so sorry for sending everyone on a wild goose chase here! I made a memorial for Norris Easley at the same time I made one for his wife, Betty. I know she has passed away, but maybe he has not. She was a distant relative who I didn't know very well. I just assumed that he probably has passed away and would be buried somewhere next to her. Looks like I need to do more research. Thank you for your effort!

She's buried just above her daughter, Jean LeMae Cunningham, in the same plot. I'll add that to her memorial.
