I am an amateur genealogist and photographer, wife, grandmother. Visiting cemeteries and respecting grave sites was something my grandmother taught me when I was a young girl. Sundays after church were visiting days. We would pick zinnias grown by the side of the house and visit relatives' grave sites. |
My photographs of grave stones really belong to the families of those memorialized; they are here to share. You are welcome to use for your own family trees.
Please note: I will transfer out of guidelines but at my discretion. I look at how closely you are related. I follow the Find A Grave rule that states names on a memorial match the spellings on the marker. Any differences within a family tree will be gladly noted in the bio section.
We need to remember that the primary mission of this site is to register grave sites. Therefore, surnames on the stone and names on the memorial need to be spelled the same.

I have typed in the obituary that you sent and added a note that there is no veteran's plaque at the gravesite. Mr. Donne had already asked me for a transfer so I am going to transfer the memorial to him, as Leland is not in my family.
Take care and have a very happy holiday season!

Yes, I'm fine with that, I went ahead and deleted it. It was on the cemetery transcript for that cemetery, so I don't know what happened. Thank you for letting me know about it.
Have a nice evening!

Yes. It's an antique thornless rose (2 bushes actually) that I've trained up a trellis at the end of our porch.

Sorry, I was multi-tasking and didn't catch the difference in cemeteries. I was surprised because I know you are very careful about duplicates.
Thanks for catching the typo on the marriage date for the Wickwires'. All fixed now. Appreciate your help.

Thank you for trying to get a photo of her marker. I appreciate your time and effort.

I am getting so frustrated trying to find their burial locations. The family history book says the cemetery in Pleasant Lake. Jane is the only grandparent I have no photo of her marker or her. I appreciate you taking the time to type out the obit and send that to me. I will add it to his page. Red

I went ahead and made the links for her daughter and her husband Riley. That pretty much says the same thing as your note. Also, May is my 5th cousin twice removed and my 6th cousin once removed (via the Crose family).

The spelling of her surname has been corrected to 2 "n"s as requested. Have a blessed week. Mrs. Laura Evans-Steele
