Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on genealogy since I was in my teens.

Thank you so much to my wonderful paternal Grandmother, Lily Chesnut Hill. She gave me pictures, stories and all the information she had to start me on my genealogy path. Then there has been many helpful people who have sent me information along the way.

It is now about 40 yrs later, and I am still working on the project. I did take several years off, several times, to have and raise 6 children.

I am trying to put all the information I have on line, so that others looking for our common ancestors can have help finding them too.

Please feel free to copy and use anything I have posted. These are all our ancestors, not just mine. I am very proud of them, and want to share what information I have about them.

Find A Grave is awesome!! I have found many ancestors that I thought were lost. Thank you to all who make Find A Grave possible.

Hi Robbin, do you know anything more about John Chambers #54694900 and his wife Rachel #94126430. The Chambers are in my husband's line out here in MO. Thanks for any help.

re: Charles Goss
The DC # on his memorial refers to the Missouri Death Certificate issued in his name. You may find it online at the Missouri Secretary of State website. The State Hospital at Washington Township treated a host of patients with various conditions...I expect you can find more information by way of online searches or through the local historical society. As far as I know, the records of individual patients are still sealed and must be obtained through court order.

RE: Porter Drew
I am very interested in making contact with this person. I haven't heard from him.

My g-grandmother was a Drew, she was a cousin to Porter.

I am interested in anything and everything I can find on the Drew family.

Porter Drew

I saw the portrait of Porter you put on Ancestry. Can you please put it on Porter's memorial?

RE: Sarah Hill Morgan
You are most welcome, & I have no objections to your using the photo. I only wish I had been able to take a better photo of the entire stone for you. The inscription was so light I was afraid that it wouldn't show if I got back any further. I live in Blanchester, Ohio which is about 140 miles from Washington County Indiana. I had been involved in an educational program in Corydon, Indiana for the Harrison County Schools on Friday, & the general public on Saturday. By the time the program was wrapped up & I was able to get to the cemetery it was about 7 pm so I only had about an hour of daylight left to work with.
I am aware of the connection between Susannah Motsinger, & Michael Brown. I am a direct descendant of Jacob Sr. Motsinger (41181119).Jacob Sr. would be my 5th Great Grandfather. My line descends down from him to Jacob Jr.(37474309), to John (37475204), to Joel (8112115), to Charles (8112043), to Ernest (32873850), to Hugh (37664429), who was my Father.
I have a considerable number of my ancestors buried in the Olive Branch Cemetery, In addition to the Motsingers I am descended from the Lockenours,& Sifers,& Robison's who are buried there, the Sides,& Crims, buried in Washington Co., & the Peytons, & Robertson,s of Clark Co,
Besides the Brown Motsinger connection I know that one of my GG Grand Dad Thomas Lockenour's son Marion(32860810) was killed at Jeremiah Brown's Stump Mill when a horse kicked him in the head. I have had some little information on the Brown connection, but little beyond what I have related. I also have a tree on Ancestry, but I haven't gotten around to adding the information on the Brown connection, which I soon hope to do.
Based on all this I would say we share a common ancestor in Jacob Sr.

Gaye Hill
Hill Geneaolgy
Hello Robbin,

While anything is possible, I don't see a probable connection.

HILL Is my late husband's linage, he was an only surviving child and (so far as I know) there are no other Hill researchers in his father's line.

These Hills settled in south central Indiana, coming from Richland, OH. There are several distinct branches, but Ohio is still their point of origin, and then they went to Ripley County, IN and to Bedford, KY - just across the Ohio River from Madison, IN.

Jesse, Birl, Sherman are some repeating names.

Did you know that Daviess County, IN - Washington - has their newspapers in a searchable format online and free?

I use those papers for other areas, as they were quite the 'gossip mongers' in their day and anything they wrote about weddings, funerals, the like was very detailed.

Best wishes on your continued research, perhaps we will meet as 'cousins' yet!
