I am retired and a widower. I was born in Iowa, and now live in the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks. I have been tracing family history for about 20 years, with an emphasis on BENEDICT, ORR, PEASE, KINGERY, HURD, BULL, TACKABERRY, HAMILTON, SUMMERS, CHOATE and WOODS, among others.|

I ran across a gravestone survey that had been done in 1980 by the Des Moines Co. Genealogical Society (even though Elmwood Cemetery is in Louisa Co.) which listed grave markers from south to north in rows from east to west. Then they indexed all of them.
Without that, I would have never found the marker you were looking for or many others.
I made a copy of the survey and gave it to the cemetery sexton so he'll have it for future reference.
