UPDATED AUGUST 18th, 2014:|
"Life is the childhood...of our Immortality." - Goethe
BIG THANK YOUS AND HUGS TO LISA for helping me to update my pages and information! =)
SPONSORSHIPS: Please do not feel hopeless when trying to make it through the sponsorship listings! There are days when I can only visit a couple, myself...and I am continuing to work at separating them - for instance, you can already see 'Attention: Sponsored Children' and 'Attention: Sponsored Military Men and Women'...and I will continue to 'compartmentalize' names and circumstances, so that you will be able to go right to names which interest you. =)And, as always, THANK YOU for visiting our pages - every single token and word of prayer is so appreciated.
The circumstances of the Hope School Fire of 1924 are just so sad to read; 24 individuals - mostly children - died in the disaster. I am in the process of adding the victims to my own virtual cemeteries, but you can find a complete list by going to member Red Dog's page: I tried to link his member's page, but the number takes me to a random memorial. There are only 2 members with that moniker, though, and so hopefully you can take a second to find him -... here is one of the children. Many of the pages have only one or two visitors:
I have just received files, letters and other information about two of my relatives that literally caused me to break into tears; to do the work that we do on this site, and to every now and then find that something done has solved a decades or century old puzzle...it's very humbling. It also makes me realize that the hard work is more than worth it, and I am so grateful that this site exists. Updated pages and information for two of our Banks' Boys:
Edward Francis 'Eddie' Banks
Edward William Forest 'Eddie' Banks
Site friend Casey noticed this young man on Esther Kinder's page - Eric had a BIRTHDAY on August 6th:
Eric Andrew Crumbaugh
This young man was here for too brief a time; please visit with prayers and tokens:
Nathan Hans Stoeppler
From site friend Lisa comes this lovely lady's story - Maria has an ANGEL DAY on August 24th:
Maria Teresa Morrow
Before my health issues and my mother's passing, I began to work on virtual cemeteries for our still MIA military men and women, as well aqs those who - as long as sixty and seventy years later - have recently been identified, their remains sent Home at last. Corporal William Ray Sluss is one of those heroes; taken prisoner during the Korean War, he came home to Virginia in 2012. His BIRTHDAY was August 2nd:
Corporal William Ray Sluss
This angel is in need of flowers and blessings:
Colleen F. Gragen
This lovely lady was here too briefly:
Kathy Janene Emminger
Thank You to both The Houstons and Zane's Mom for the links and info which lead to this little angel - she has less than ten tokens:
Brittany R. Mendenhall
I was asked to keep the link up to my brother Ron's page; THANK YOU for all of your thoughts and prayers for my family members. =) I just put a poem of mine on Ron's page that will tell a bit more about my brother's short time here, if you'd like to read it - it's - as Ron would have said - the cold as Chicago winter wind truth, and he was very brave to live through everything he did. Here is Ron's link:
Ronald Lucien 'Ron' Poynter, Jr.
Here are three members of site friend Dawn's family, all with just passed or pending special days:
Tammie Eve Brinson, AD July 27th
Richard A. Hughes AD August 12th
Reverend Harold 'Sonny' Brinson AD August 8th
I want to send big hugs and Thank Yous to my friends who helped sponsor military members, victims of the Holocaust and children in the last few days...the love extended - and always in an anonymous 'don't mention it, Rhonda' way of thought - simply overwhelms me at times. Those sponsor hearts absolutely bring more visitors, and the respect shown for others' loved ones by helping add a heart is, in my lingo, extremely classy. =)
Bio: My son Gannon and I live in the Bay Area, but we are from Chicago/Jersey/New York; we have traveled extensively in our lives and are only off the road for now due to medical issues - but I sure hope to be able to hit the road again, someday. =) I am widowed, and I write for a living; I am very lucky to be able to work at home and therefore be with Gannon 24/7; he is seriously physically and mentally disabled, and most of my friends on here already know how I feel about Gannon...If I leave anything behind that is good, it will be because Gannon made me a better person. It is an honor to be his mother. We are interested in charity work and support Wounded Warriors, Make A Wish, Toys for Tots, The Huntington's Disease Foundation, The Michael J. Fox Foundation; all programs for poverty and below poverty level families in America; Feed America, Books For Inmates, and more. We also have a soft spot for animal welfare programs, and sincerely believe the quote that "If you want to know a man's true character, study how he treats an animal." Lastly, I hope that my work on here will answer questions, bring reunions and pay tribute to those gone, but not forgotten.
"Pray for the dead, and fight like hell for the living." - MOTHER JONES

Thank you so much for sponsoring this young man's memorial. I just wish I knew him or his family. I just ran across his headstone while taking other headstone pictures for people and it touched my heart because he was not on the site.
Thanks again. Esther

The clerks tell me the neurologist doesn't work out the location nearby I and my doctor want. so the ball is in my doctor's court.... My doctor has patients now so won't be getting back to me soon. There's no proof that I had a seizure....only a neighbor heard groaning which a half sister in FL said could have been a bad dream...and my level which was 10.2 but usually around 16-17. I did tell the paramedic I didn't know what the date was while in the ambulance. At home, I knew the month but wasn't sure of the date.

Dear Rhonda: It is always an honor to visit friends and family members of my friends on this site. I am sure I miss a lot of them, but try to catch each day the ones I can. Thank you so much for your beautiful note to me. It means so very much. Have a beautiful weekend coming up.
Rhonda, I just noticed that Genealogy Girl's pages have been missed by us for some time, neither you or I had her listed as a friend. Just wanted to let you know!

Dear Rhonda and Gannon:
We are just so grateful! I truly doubt that you can even comprehend what you have done for three heartbroken children. Please go to your private e-mail for more details, and gratitude. Love to Gannon!
