Thanks for the date correction on Richard. I had meant to look the family up and fill out all the family details, and this jogged my memory! You were right, and, oddly enough, he is in my family tree!! (an in-law)

McLeods in Cumberland County
Have you ever heard of a Carter Cemetery, in Cumberland Cty, NC? Apparently Joe Anna McLeod was buried there, but I'm not finding it on the list, and I'm no where near NC to take a look.

Linda, I noticed that George Thomas McLeod's death certificate says Carter Cemetery as well. That could be the old name of it... I am not sure.

I do know that when I went to take photos there, I didn't get the whole cemetery. Also, this cemetery is in the open very near a Food Lion grocery store. There was some damage to it. I suppose things could have disappeared or gotten moved over the years. Or, there might not have been a stone for her.

I think what I would do is add him and then request a photo. Then go from there.

Thanks, Vonna

Re: Photo request for Ethel Louise Cheney Forbes
Hi Linda:

According to Woodmere Cemetery records, Ethel was cremated at Woodmere, and the ashes were given back to R.J. Nixon F.H. on 4/30/1952. Back in those days, Woodmere's crematory did cremations for many of the funeral homes in Detroit and Downriver (Wyandotte). If there had been a burial at the cemetery, it would have been listed. R.J. Nixon Funeral Home would be the one to contact to find out what happened to her ashes. Here's their web site:

http://nixonfuneralhome.com/

If you want to see for yourself, here's the link to Woodmere Cemetery's records online:

http://www.woodmerecemeteryresearch.com/records.php

Sorry I can't help,
TLIB
