RE: reply
The man's name is John Fulton Reynolds. He was a General and the first officer killed at Gettysburg, but he is not buried at Gettysburg. I feel certain your relative would be honored to have this man mentioned. However, it is merely coincidental that he is mentioned, because his monument sits inside the gate. That is why it says so. It is a description of what the picture is showing, and is not intended in anyway as a slight or reference to your relative, and is certainly not in poor taste. Your relative is buried in Gettysburg, and this is the gate shot. If I edit the caption, then the caption disappears from the picture altogether; I cannot make it specific to the one on Smith's memorial. I submitted the picture to the site administrators as a general cemetery photo, and it was their decision to choose this particular one to post as the gate shot on all memorials. There are multiple gates - as you know since you've been there - so my description is helping people who might go there at some time know which gate is which, and those who are never able to make it there will know something more about the cemetery. Since only 3 photos show on the "front page" of each memorial, the gate shot is moved to second page and most people will not see it. The gate shot is a "bonus" and does not count against the limit of 5 photos per memorial. The memorial manager has apparently chosen to leave the gate shot there, which is her right, and in my opinion, adds valuable information to the memorial. I don't see any reason to change it.

RE: Family Decendents
On most memorials, there is a cemetery gate shot added (if the site administrators choose to use one). It is automatically attached to all the memorials of that cemetery. If you click on a few other memorials in Gettysburg, you will see that they also have the same photo attached. If you are the manager of a memorial and don't want the gate shot to show up, then click on the link below the pictures that says, "Don't show cemetery photo on this memorial."

I believe we must be cousins if you are part of the Smith-Torrance family. I am the great-granddaughter of Anne Healy Smith Ellis. And I assume you must be descended from Myra Smith and Clay Torrance. I would love to correspond with you on more of this family info. I have quite a bit, but we genealogists can always use more. Please contact me through FindAGrave contributor #46933504, or if you are interested.
