most likely, his name was on a roster of Confederate soldiers compiled by the UDC in the early 1900's. They must have had firsthand knowledge of his service, I could not find him on any roster. He very well could have served in local militia.

Don't know if there is a marker for E.S. Kneeland. His name was added from a list compiled by the United Daughters of the Confederacy back in the early part of the last century. He is not listed on the city website with a plot #, so I doubt he has a marker. If he ever did, it is buried or gone.
