RE: Dear Family NY to Kansas
I am an indirect relative. I have a death certificate for Nettie Cook. It lists her father as Judson Dear. Nettie has a sister, Alice. Alice married at a very young age Edward Klinger aka Edward Morton. I believe they married in Syracuse NY. They then lived in St Louis. I have been able to find a marriage for them. Finding the maiden name of Alice and Nettie was a great find. This lead to researching the Dear family. I am related to the Klinger family of Schuylkill co PA. I am working with a descendant of the above named Alice. Do you have any information to add? Is Judson's wife Matilda? or Emidine? Is there another way we can communicate. my email is

I have changed her maiden name to Noonan, I must have made an error when I had it as Cunningham. In one place I found her maiden name to be Moorne, which is close to Noonan. Thanks for your help. geo

David Dear
Perhaps you already know this, but I find David Dear on the 1885 Douglas Co, Kansas census in the household of George and Julia Nott. Emma and Edwin Dear are also in the household. On the 1895 Douglas Co, Kansas census David Dear is gone, but daughter Emma is still there.
Emma [Eunice] is still living with George and Julia in 1900 Douglas Co, Ks census.

Thank you! I am doing a presentation on the cemetery for 7th grade students from St. Thomas the Apostle school. They are going to be picking a subject or family to research as part of their 7th grade curriculum. It is exciting to see how the Grand Rapids local history is tied into St. Andrews Cemetery! I appreciate your willingness to share and if there is anything that you would be willing to share with the kids, please email me at janda143@aol.com

Thank you!
