I recently started doing research on my various families and have found the Find A Grave site an invaluable source. I greatly appreciate all the work others have done to provide information and hope that I can follow in their footsteps. Being new, I only plan to work on my direct families, but when time permits I hope to add information for others. Thank you to everybody who has contributed to this great site! | |

Hello Michael,
I found your family in our tree. According to my info, I have your Martha as the youngest of James and Marthas children. Her brother is William Ludwig Lee, my husbands (Bill) paternal Grandfather. William Ludwig had two marriages. The first was to Edna L. Marshall. They had Hazel and J. Edward. I understand Edna died "in childbed" after Eddie was born. (This info was from an Aunt). Wm. Ludwig then married Edith Maria Perry and had Bill's father W. Marshall.
I keep telling my husband how lucky he was to get the middle name of Marshall instead of Edna's father's name of Adelbert! LOL
I was able to get James' pension papers with a wealth of information because he had to prove that his last name was Lee and not Larson, as they had in their records. In fact that is what started my research. A volunteer found a record of James Lee - AKA Larson and I said "that's it". I had always heard that the name had been changed from Larson somewhere along the line.
