I have been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 1997. I am currently the Registrar of my chapter in Virginia and I use Find a Grave to help prospective members do research for their application. It is important to me that the information I find be as accurate as possible. I have found genealogy to be quite addictive.

Hi Ann,
Yes you did...but I understand where you're coming from. Some we never hear from so I appreciate your kind words. It's a true honor and a blessing for me to be able to help others. Let me know if I could be of service to you in the future in this area.
Have a wonderful day!

RE: Elizabeth Kimbrough Pendleton

It reads;

Elizabeth Kimbrough Pendleton

Relict of

Madison Pendleton

Born Aug. 23 1807

Died May 25 1898

The inscription below that is illegible. The marker is 117 years old and very worn.

It was my pleasure to look,

That's awesome how you help others with their DAR requirements. Eventually I plan to try to join, after getting a little more organized with my ancestry. The cemetery is on Cedar Hill Rd , almost right after you turn on it from Frederick's Hall Rd (rt 618) in Mineral.

Elizabeth Pendleton
I went to look for her stone today but I couldn't get close to it because of overgrowth. I will go back soon, when the plants start to die for winter. Should be able to get to it then. That whole cemetery is in a sad state. A lot of the stones are toppled over, many can't be read. And then there's overgrowth inside the walls and around the grave on one side of the outside. Did get a picture of an Anne Pendleton's stone

It is very hard to read several of the Sanders' stones. I just took pictures of all of them and looked at them on my computer to see them. Rubbings may help but will have to cool off around here first...temps are over 100.
