I have been doing family research since 2001 and find-a-grave has helped me so much. I just recently learned how to email. So I couldn't wait to help people like they have helped me. I have chronic pain and going to cemeteries to take pictures for someone helps get my mind off the pain. And knowing how happy I could make someone, makes me happy! And I love the outdoors. Thank you to all of you who have added people to find a grave! I appreciate it very much. And on bad days remember Mary's saying "Sure things could be better, but they could always be worse! Count your blessing!"|

|Mark A Culpepper||Richard Addison Graham|
The Weston High School Alumni Association in Louisiana (not far from Richard Addison Graham is buried) is trying to find the origin of the name of the school. We think Mr Graham may have been the first school teacher at the school that was the forerunner of Weston. So far, I have found out (probably) the following from various sources on Ancestry.com and Find-a-Grave:
He was a Warrant officer in the Civil War for the Confederacy, where his picture might have been taken. He was a school teacher. Gabriella McGuire was a daughter.
Birth: Mar. 26, 1834 North Carolina, USA
Death: Jan. 11, 1893 Bienville Parish Louisiana, USA
Richard Addison Graham married Gabriella Virginia Pullen/Pullin on Sept. 22, 1864. He was probably a Mason.
1870 Jackson Parish, Louisiana Census (Ward 6):
R. A. Graham, 35, school teacher, born North Carolina
G. V. Graham, 26, keeping house
F. E. Graham, 5, daughter
L. T. Graham, 3, daughter
G. G. Graham, 1, daughter
1880 Jackson Parish, Louisiana Census (Ward 2):
R. A. Graham, 47, farmer
Gabriela V. Graham, 37, wife
Florence E. Graham, 14, daughter
Lydia T. Graham, 13, daughter
G. G. Graham, 11, daughter
R. A. Graham, Jr., son, laborer
Alexander Graham, 8, son
Anthony E. Graham, 5, son
William Graham, 2, son
Ann A. Graham, 3/12, daughter
R. A. Graham's father was Ezekiel Graham. His mother was Thomasin Farrar Lewis.
Burial: Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Friendship (Bienville County Bienville Parish Louisiana, USA
Any further info you have about Professor Graham (as he was known here) could help us find out if Mr Graham named his school Weston Academy or maybe you have another idea.

Mary, I would ask you to visit Mattie's grave site at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. I, fifty years after I discovered her grave, have had it set in a nice granite base. Mattie was related to me on both sides of my family. It's a story I love to tell to those who have an interest in family history. I am unsure where you live, but I believe you are a descendant of Acie Tiffie. Acie was my g-Uncle Charlie's oldest son. Uncle Charlie was, of course, my grandfather's only full-blood brother. He was born Charles Catlet Tiffee in Missouri. I have spent fifty years researching our genealogy. I have stood on every piece of earth that our family called home from England to Texas. If you are interested, you may contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone at 830-370-6782. I always welcome family that has an interest in our history. If you carry the Tiffee name, I know you.
William Sheridan Tiffee II
