Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have lived in Lee's Summit, Jackson County, Missouri for 50 years. I am 52 years young. I have family members in cemeteries in Lee's Summit, Jackson County, Missouri. The Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery in downtown Lee's Summit, Floral Hills East Cemetery on the east side of Lee's Summit, and Sni Mills Cemetery located on Colbern Road in Eastern Jackson County. I am eager and willing to locate and take pictures and submit to the website. I have been researching my family history since I was 12 years old. At this point I have applied for my ancestor Samuel Houston in the Daughters of the American Revolution, so I am interested in helping others find their missing relatives. It's an exciting journey and I enjoy every minute of my search.

RE: Photo of Arnold Cem

Thank you for asking permission to use the photo. It would please me, if you do give my name as the contributor. My hope is that perhaps someone would see that name and may know something about my family and if so. share with me.

I, too, am a subscriber to and would love to look at your tree if you could give me the address. Most of the time it is impossible to find a 'particular' tree just by general searching.

Thanks again for asking. I really appreciate that you will use my name with the photographs.

RE: LaVerna A Arnold
Hi Kathy,

I've had these pictures from Arnold Cemetery for along time. . . but not as long as I had been looking for it! It was twelve years after the first try that we actually got to the cemetery.

We were in Tennessee on our way home from a trip to North Carolina researching my Westerman family when we finally found the exact location of the cemetery. We were just getting out of the car to walk to the cemetery when a downpour of rain came down! It was impossible, of course, to think about walking down there in that kind of weather. We had no choice but to give up, so went went on to Jackson, TN and spent the night. I started crying as soon as we left the cemetery!!! I would stop crying and the next minute start again! That's how disappointed I was!

Early the next morning, my husband woke me up and told me were headed back to Parsons and the cemetery! He made me real happy that day when I was able to stand at the grave of my great-great-great grandfather, John Westerman.

Three weeks later after finding who to get permission from to place the signs, we headed back to Arnold Cemetery with the signs. It was a labor of love for me and I still can't thank my husband enough for doing all that work on some really hot days.

It is now my pleasure to be able to share these photos with you.

Lawrence Ketchum
You are very welcome for the photo's I post for you. Very happy to do it. I have a Lawrence Ketchum in Mt Zion cemetery, he is not listed in Find-A-Grave and I would be glad to enter him. I just don't know what date to put. It is a military stone with just one date. Says July 18, 1920. Would that be the death date?
