Agnes Ruth Evelyn Myles
Dear Judy:
It appears that you are Evelyn's daughter. You and I share a special heritage as we are the great grand daughters of John Walter and Agnes Allen.
It is strange that from such a large family of brothers and sisters that the Allen's produced only a few grandchildren...and mostly "only children". My mother was the daughter of William Earl and Myrtle Allen. My mother grew up in Pratt City just a few houses away from the last house that Agnes lived in on Avenue Z. I am so excited to have found you...I do remember my mother talking about her cousin Evelyn. My mother's name was Gerdaline which she quickly changed to Gerry upon leaving home...she was older than your Mom by a few years as she was born in 1917. I was born in April 1946 and my father was a pilot in the Air Force so visiting Birmingham was a once year treat if we were lucky. I dearly loved all my great Aunts and Uncles...can you believe I was not just an only child but both my parents were as well so I had nobody. I so wish that I had known your mother as she may have known more about the Allen's and perhaps some stories that were kept somewhat a secret. If you feel comfortable calling me, please do...I am just excited beyond words to know that I finally found a person that I am related to. I was in Birmingham in 1995 and had not been there since my grandfather, Earl Allen, had passed away in 1965. I was so disappointed to find that my grandparent's home was gone...and as you might know my grandmother passed away in 1964 and is buried in another cemetery as my grandfather re-married for a very short time and that person had him buried mother had no say so. What a story! I have done extensive work on the Allen ancestry but cannot get anywhere with Agnes Young...her father was from Germany maybe Young was spelled different but I cannot locate her family. Well I go on and on but please email me and we can either talk on the phone or keep a written conversation going. Do you happen to have that elusive word "photos"? If I have found the right person...I already love you. 407/701/3914 Janet

I was wondering if you have any information on Ola Lee (Allen) Myles {4/27/1899- 11-30-1973} family. Ola and I are descendant granddaughters of Preston S Allen (1827-1911) & Rhonda C (Bryam) Allen (1838-1915).
What I am looking for is any information on Preston's,his parents, his siblings or his children. Any old family pictures.
Do you know where here parents are buried? Her grandparents are buried?
Please contact me at
Thanks Suzy
