Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am so grateful to this site and the people who maintain it, especially those who have so graciously helped me. My family roots include Harder/Beckmann(German immigrants), Johnson/Casey (Arkansas), Hudson/Troxel (Mississippi/Missouri), and Dickenson/Dick/Palm (Iowa/Kansas/Ohio). I am the great-granddaughter of Charles W. Palm, who died in Santa Rosa as a result of the 1906 San Francisco Bay Area earthquake. Discovering him on Find A Grave was the beginning of my now-obsession with my genealogy. I will happily share any info that will help others find loved ones.

If I can help anyone by photographing a grave in the area of Contra Costa County where I live, please let me know.

Lucinda Troxel updated
I just updated Lucinda's memorial per your information. I don't have the name of her parents, though, so if you can provide that I'll include it.

Thanks! Richard

Lucinda Troxel
In your first SAC I thought that you meant that Lucinda's maiden name should be Troxel, since that was the name of her father. In your newest edit you have the middle name to be Jane, but the maiden name part is put in as "unknown". I updated her memorial to include the Troxel maiden name.

Your new edit (using the new system) wants me to change the middle initial "J" to Jane, which is fine, but because the whole name gets wiped clean with the edits, the new edit wants the maiden name removed and marked "unknown". Is that your intent? I don't think it is, but want to make sure.

Your edit and my update may have crossed paths - for now I'm 'ignoring' your new edit. If need be, have your new edit deleted and send a new one with both the middle name and maiden name included so that the new update doesn't remove the maiden name inadvertently.

These new edits are ok to a point, but they can override existing information (and relationship links), removing accurate information/links.

Let me know what I should do.

RE: Elizabeth Betty Troxel #124720233
Thanks, I didn't know. I've linked the two daughters to Elizabeth 121644501. I'll transfer them and delete my duplicate, after I let the other contributor know she's welcome to any data in it.

RE: Edom Shugart's 1852 Diary
Hi, I'd have replied sooner, but have been running around in circles. I know what you mean about Edom Shugart's diary. Fortunately, at least some of the people managed to retrieve at least some of their lives, seems like a tribute to the human spirit.

I want to look at your family tree notes soon, but haven't had a chance yet. Let me hear, as you find more of your Troxel family. I have a virtual cemetery for the 1952 trip on my Findagrave contributor page, if that's of help to you.

Some of the people were probably buried in established cemeteries, but I don't have that data. More than one cemetery on the same creek, etc.

Albert Hubbell
Hi I believe this to be Albert Hubbell whom enlisted into Company B 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery on Aug 9 1864 at Mantorville Dodge County Minnesota at the age of 19. I also sent a request for update on his birth year. I figure he was born about 1845. Please let me know what you think.

I was glad to help you with this request. I was driving by on the way to airport and wondered if there were requests. I checked and there you go. Anyway, it was my pleasure!

Mabel Blanche Wallin
Hi Pamela,
I was able to find a death record for the baby that was born after Tom. She died of marasmus (failure to thrive) 2 days after her mother. I'll try to get out to the cemetery in a day or so to take a photo of the headstone.
Best wishes,
