RE: Chester Davis
Hi Robin, It is possible it was a typo on the location. Yes, he was cremated. Thank you for taking time out of your day to help me with this!

Maude Rhoden
Hello - saw your request for a picture of the grave of Maude Rhoden at Fairmount Cemetery here in Cape Girardeau. I am sorry but there is a problem taking that picture. Just recently I completed the task of taking pictures of that entire cemetery - including the section 11 where she is buried (which is actually across the street from Fairmount and next to New Lorimier.) The official records for both cemeteries are now online and you can access them if you would like: go to Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation - scroll to the bottom and click on "cemeteries" Then click on the cemetery you choose and "burials from A-Z). This has helped me tremendously. If you find Maude Rhoden, you will see they did not have dates for her listed but they do show Section 11 lot 42 - grave 1 as you had. What I did for those burials in section 11 that did not have a marker was put a picture of that area on their memorial page. Would you like for me to do that? I'd be glad to if you let me know. Sorry this is so long. Ruth Smith

Rosewood Mem cem

I was looking thru the Find A Grave and saw your note about Rosewood not wanting to furnish information or allow photograph w/o family consent. This is a violation of VA state law as located here:

A. Owners of private property on which a cemetery or graves are located shall have a duty to allow ingress and egress to the cemetery or graves by (i) family members and descendants of deceased persons buried there; (ii) any cemetery plot owner; and (iii) any person engaging in genealogy research, who has given reasonable notice to the owner of record or to the occupant of the property or both.

B. The right of ingress and egress granted to persons specified in subsection A shall be reasonable and limited to the purposes of visiting graves, maintaining the gravesite or cemetery, or conducting genealogy research.

D. Any person denied reasonable access under the provisions of this section may bring an action in the circuit court where the property is located to enjoin the owner of the property from denying the person reasonable ingress and egress to the cemetery or gravesite.

I would suggest printing out the page ifwhen you go back to show them. I had this problem in Suffolk with a Divinty owned cemetery and they have been slightly more helpful since.

I am so very sorry I over looked the note you sent about contacting the cemetery.
If you still want to do my request, let me know and I'll call the cemetery.

Robin, you rock! Thanks so much for getting a picture of Bob McAllister's grave marker. I used to watch his television show, Wonderama, when I was a child. It's awesome that you were able to add a picture to his Find-A-Grave memorial. His many fans, myself included, are now in your debt. Thanks again!
