Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've always enjoyed history, archeology, genealogy and cemeteries. I like talking walks through cemeteries with my husband because it always turns into an interesting conversation. That being said I do not want to be buried in a cemetery…I would prefer to be cremated.

If you would like to use any of my pictures just ask, I can't think of any reason I would say "no".

thank you for taking the pic of Mary McEwen-Barnett maker @ old Hanover. Is it ok for me to add the pic to my family tree site?

RE: Mary McElheny photo request
Thank you! How sweet of you to make such an effort! Good luck in getting a good picture. By the way, the McElheny can be spelled numerous ways, so you may find Mary but with different spelling of her last name.

Maryann McElhenny, 16133399
Hi Krystal,

I apologize for forgetting my request for Maryann. Out of the blue, a gentlemen "RL" came to me about her stone and went out and used an organic substance on the stone to make the letting pop. It worked, he sent it to me to post on her site.

Now I note that Mary McElhenny's stone is very hard to read. I blew up the latest photo to try to transcribe it and I can't read the NAME, DATE or AGE. (see her bio) IF you can shed any light on what it says it would be helpful, to add to her site. If you want to try to estimate the location, I would add it to her site for others to locate (ie SE corner, near R wall fr entrance, etc.). This was the only address to contact you.

Hi Krystal,

I have a huge favor to ask.

On 17 Apr 2012 you so kindly photographed the gravestone of Maryann McElhenny at Old Hanover Churchyard. Someone (RL) just wrote me about her age, changing her birth year. Is there anyway you could go out to the cemetery with a pair of scissors or garden shearers to clip the grass away from the lettering on the stone?

We are most interested in the year of her birth and the age at her death 1806, at age 14 or 34. It's the bottom 2 lines. The cursive looking 1 is the culprit.

Grateful either way and thanks,

Just wanted to say thankyou for this picture, sorry the thanks is so late but Ive been away. I have sent this information to some experts to look into because this man may be a long lost family member that at last report died in Mercer county but has ties to this area also.

Thank you for taking your time to photograph Lowe's Headstone, I wasn't sure if he wasn't in the military or not and it looks like he was!

Thank You!!!

RE: Mary McElheny photo request
Hi Krystal,

No problem on time frame. I understand - "under the weather". Just spent 3 weeks in hospital and rehab with a very bad case of pneumonia, which 3 weeks later, I am still weak and sleeping a lot.

I have received your email today, haven't yet opened files, wanted to write and thank you for all you have done.

Hope you will be feeling better very soon.

Best Wishes,

RE: Mary McElheny photo request
Hi Krystal,
Thank you so much for leaving me a message. All of the McElhenys are part of the same family. Unfortunately, someone added their names spelling some McElhenny. The name was really spelled McElhany, but was misspelled more than it was correct, even by the McElhanys.

Mary McElhany was born 1733 and died Aug 4, 1807.

I would appreciate whatever stones you can find. I already have Thomas McElhany, Sr's grave stone. It is listed as Thomas McElhenny, Sr. The other Thomas is his son. The other Mary(Ann) who died in 1805 is listed on the "Inscriptions of the Old Graveyard was aged 14 years 6 months

I hope this will help you
