Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am researching several limbs of my family in the Central Illinois area including but not limited to, Strope, Memmen, Nau, Fluegel, Stufflebeam, Green, Purkey, Ashmore, Barnes and Robeson. I am also resarching (or trying) my Smith roots in the Alton/Hartford/St. Louis area including but not limited to Dillon, Dawson, Dahlhaus and Smith, of course.

I view Find A Grave as a way to memorialize our loved ones through the site pages themselves and by allowing family to better understand their roots, maybe even meeting long lost relatives who share their interest in family history. It is not my intent to hurt or insult anyone. If you look through any of my own family memorials, you will see I have experienced my fair share of loss and do not wish to inflict or contribute to the pain of others going through their own experience of loss. I do not view this site as some sort of numbers game.

Your Grandmother
Kiki was an amazing woman! She was a very dear friend of mine when I was younger, as was Sissy, Frances Cook. Your grandma won so many awards for her dancing abilities, and even her ability to help the handicapped learn to walk again. I've seen the awards that she had received from presidents, and I even know why she hates the name Iola. When she was a little girl, people taunted her because of her name-"Iola Plays the Victrola". She wanted to be Kiki, because she was a ballerina! She could kick! She had the most amazing strength! The arches in her feet were amazing! She could stand on her toes at 80 years old!!! Anyway, I just thought I would say "Hello". She was such a wonderful friend and mentor to me, and when I saw that you were related, I couldn't pass up the chance to say hi.

Christian A. Fluegel
Hi, Dawn -- FYI - I submitted edits to you on Christian, from information on Ill. Deaths & Stillbirths Index on I took photos at Vaughter Cemetery and am researching families. Christian's parents in Vaughter were posted with wrong spelling of Fluegel on their Find A Grave memorials, so I have submitted edits to contributor to get that corrected. Thanks.

Minnie W. Green
I believe that she is Minnie W. Goetz and married George Francis Gargus in 1924 in MO. Then married Otis Green in 1941. I have a copy of Otis and Minnies marriage license from Jackson County, MO. But I no info on Otis Green. Do you have anything on him? She is my daughter-in-laws great-grandmother via the Gargus line.

RE: Ellen Dean
The confusing part is that she is buried in Storm Lake but has a stone in another cemetery. I am going to SL soon and see if she has a stone there as well. She is on the list of burials in Storm Lake so she probably has two stones. Not sure why anyone would do that! Geo

Ellen Dean
Find A Grave Memorial# 90488762

Would you mind making a note on your memorial. Ellen Dean died in Iowa and was buried there according to her obituary. I see you have a stone with her name on it. Very confusing. I have also linked my memorial to her parents if you would like to check the obituary. She is also listed as a burial in the Iowa cemetery. Geo

You posted a photo on his site- it is unreadable- I can only make our Iva daughter of A.S. & M. L.
I believe this is a photo of his daughter's stone, unless his dates are listed on it also.
Could you recheck - Iva's #: is 69619379.

Thanks for all the work you've done on this site.

I'm wondering if you happen to know who else is buried on the lot with Fred G. Gale. I am looking for his wife, Clara.
Thank you.
